About how many sets do I need for 7-8 player maps?
So I have been thinking about getting some friends together for 7-8 player heroscape games. However I am not really sure where to start. I have two for the first two master sets and one of the D and D set. Of the smaller expansions I have 4 of the RttFF, 2 Tundras and Castles, and one Jungle.
If someone could point me to some maps that go that high it might give me an idea and be especially helpfull since I am not that creative on the map side of things, and usually just use what other people make anyway. |

Re: About how many sets do I need for 7-8 player maps?
I bet you could fit 7-8 players on this map:
It only requires RotV x58, RttFF x10 and FotA x12 Really it depends largely on how many points each player gets. 8 players with 200 points each can use a different size map than 8 players with 600 points each. You could check out the HS maps database, but it only allows searches for up to 4 players. At least you can enter the sets you want, though. |

Re: About how many sets do I need for 7-8 player maps?
My HeroScape board is 6' by 2.5', I figure. We regularly play with six people, and I'm sure there's room for at least two more easily. They would have to be team battles though, free for all is really difficult to make more or less fair for everyone. I have 4 RotV, 1 SotM, 2 MS3, 2 TT and VW, 4 RotFF and TJ, 1 Marvel, and 4 Castles. That's more than enough to do just about anything you want on a playing space like mine. I'm sure I could easily build maps twice that size though if I had a bigger surface to put them on.

Re: About how many sets do I need for 7-8 player maps?
You definitely want to play in teams when you have that many players. I've played in a 6-player free-for-all and it got really boring while you were waiting for your turn.
You can try this map. It uses: 4 ROTV 3 SOTM 2 RTTFF 1 FOTA 4 TJ It is based on CVN's Epic Game Scenario here. |
