Re: Dayton, Oh. Tournament 4/10

I thought I would give people a chance & see what they would be interested in. What would you like to play?
Keep in mind that Wave 11 will be out a little over a weak before this event. I also want it to be an OVAH event.
I was considering different ones/ideas like ....
-450 no Marval or customs.
-510 Heroes only or a limit on squads.
-Three Treasure Glyphs per map.
or maybe you can think of something else

Re: Dayton, Oh. Tournament 4/10

Hmm. I think I should be able to make this one. I'll have to check with Gelcom and all that.
Some pretty cool ideas, what exactly is OVAH?

EDIT: Nevermind about the OVAH, I figured it out.
I'm liking the straight 450pts. 510 heroes only would be cool as well, especially with the influx of uncommons (Lawnmower here I come!)

Re: Dayton, Oh. Tournament 4/10

This date is pretty doable for me. Providing that we get D1 stuff by the time this tournament starts I'll be down for it. I'd almost recommend allowing anything from D1 for this tournament, but of course this entirely depends upon the format.

Congrats to ManTrain for his 2nd place finish and Pickle for his top 8 at this years GenCon ME. Columbus Crew represent!

Sweet day before my birthday... Awesome.
Maybe have a player either bring 400-only heroes or 300 all squads or 350 uncommon/commons

Dund is just tricky, that's all.

Talked to ManTrain and he'd like to come to this tournament so we may have a full Columbus Crew coming to this event. I'll talk to everyone the next time we have a game day.

Re: Dayton, Oh. Tournament 4/10

So it shall be calendared. I would suggest perhaps a theme of "Me and Mini Me" ie (one hero and 2 squads) example Cocan and the Sentinels; Sir Derrick and the Knights etc.

Re: Dayton, Oh. Tournament 4/10

Perhaps we could use a couple maps from the Tournament Testing section of the Tournament Worthy Asymmetric Maps Thread?
I was just browsing that and some are pretty cool.
It would obviously depend on what you think and the army restrictions.

Re: Dayton, Oh. Tournament 4/10

I can't make this (yet again - I swear one day I will come to Dayton), but I think you guys should try a format where you get to carry your Treasure Glyphs with you between rounds if you have one at the end of a game.

Re: Dayton, Oh. Tournament 4/10

I like the straight 450 or maybe the heroes only considering the large number of heroes coming in wave D1. The Treasure Glyph idea is also good. We could always use the 20 different trap outcomes from the last event. Dayton, Oh. Crawl 2/27
Any more ideas or votes for ideas already mentioned?

I do like some of the maps proposed by Sport351. The last two look interesting. I'm planing to make up to 14 maps. I have the materials & the one TT I own I have plans for. Only 3 VW & the rest 7x (or more ) of each. After we decide on the theme, we can start figuring out the maps. No big maps. I should have 7x each treasure glyph if we decide on using them.

For the prize table I plan on bringing an Agent Skahan, maybe some repaints, & other goodies.

Re: Dayton, Oh. Tournament 4/10

Depending on the tournament lay out; I may be coming with the Ohio Crew. My vote for the layout would go toward a 400-500 point army. There is no way of know who will and who will not have Wave D1/11 by then. So I don’t think that it would be right in assuming that everyone will have it. I’m excited on coming to my first HS tournament in over 3 years.

Re: Dayton, Oh. Tournament 4/10

The majority of the Columbus Crew should be there. I was tossing around a couple ideas with Pickle, Mattser and ManTrain for other formats.

1. Basically like a betrayal where you would have a 500-550 point army and both you and your opponent each round would "steal" up to 150-210 points of the others armies. This would cause a more skill based battle cause you could take out a key part of their army, but in the same respect they could do the same to you.

2. Similar to the one before but you would have a 600 point army. The opponent would then choose 200 points of your army that would have to "sit out" for the battle.

Another format I like and has been done is start with a 300 point army and after each round a 6 sided die would be rolled and you would multiply that number by 50 and add that many points to your army. This would cap at 600 point army battles.

Any format that is used I am happy with. I just look forward to playing.
