Wilky's Battle report

Finally got to play a game with some friends last night and what a blast. We played a 400 point team game.....and here is just a quick rundown of the action.

Armies: I had Braxas, Krav Maga, and one set of gorrilanators
My teammate had AE, SHotgun Sully, Macdirksx1 and Alastair

Oponnents. #1 had Jotun, Aubrien Archersx1, Deady Eye, and Theracus
#2 Marro Warriors, Duemeteffx2, Me Burq Sa, Na Gak Sa,
Minionsx1

Think thats correct.

In short My teammate got to drop his AE right off the bat, but didn't get iniatiative, so if I remember correctly he lost an AE before he had a chance to use their full furry. As his turn came around he was able to take down a couple of minions, but they advanced in him quickly.

Meanwhile I was moving my gorrilanators up to their position to support the AE, While #1 moved his aubriens in to take down the AE threat. The gorrilanators got their to late and it wasn't long before the AE where extinct. Tough break.

Soon after I lost all my gorrilnators to the Aubriens and to Dead eye. I will say this though...the tough ability (and with height advantage) really worked out and saved em for a bit...but the last one fell to a enhanced rifle special attack.

At this point our opponents still had quite a few units left...but we had managed to pick off a few guys here and there (marro warriors)

When the opportunity presented itself I moved in Braxas...and she did some pretty extensive damage. Taking down one minion, 4 marro warriors, and 3 aubriens.

Unfortunately to that much damage I had to move Braxas into enemy territory, and they engaged her with jotun. 8 life total, and now with 5 gone I (and being engaged to Jotun and a duemy) I risked 2 passing swipes and moved her back and on high ground out of harms way (temporarily). Thats when one of the best highlights came as she did an acid attack on Dead eye and I rolled a 17, taking out #1s last ranged unit. However shortly after braxas was taking down...leaving me with just my krav maga.

My teammate was moving his mcdirks around the right side of the gameboard to flank our opponents, and was engaged by theracus. Theracus took down a Mcdirk didnt last long after that.

#2 still had plenty of guys left so I started moving in my krav maga to get height and pick his guys off from a distance. To my surprise he moved in and engaged one of my agents with ne gak sa. Fortunately he never mind shakled, but even with height I could not take down his ne gak sa, until I got lucky with 4 skulls and he rolled all blanks. Too little to late and my agent eventually fell.Sensing I was in trouble, and with Jotun looming on the horizon I started to back peddle, but not fast enough as he moved in Me burq sa to engage one of my other agents. My agents took Me burq sa down to 1 life but couldn't finish him off.

I lost my agents and it was my oppenent left with Alastair, 2 mcdirks against Jotun and the almost a full army for #2. My teammate eventually engaged Jotun with alastait, and even doing an overextended attack got no love from the dice. And with 3 wound markers on alaistair...the final mcdirk warrior capitalized on the damage done to Ne gak sa and took him down....There was just to much strength on the board to overcome.

So in short...it was a good game....me and my teammate got our buts kicked....but it was a good time had by all.

Thats all for now....will post more (if anyone cares) maybe saturday...cheers!

Allrighty...time for another battle report...I'll keep it short.

The map; a slightly modified version out of the RTTFF booklet.

The armies; Myself: snipersx1
sentinelsx1
realin
sgt drake

opponent (mike) aubrien archersx1
monks x2
Dead eye
syvarris
theracus

Long story short. Mike moved theracus (with syvarris) onto the bridge.
By the end of the first round realin was toast.

I Pushed my snipers forward and towards the bridge to take out syvarris but mike kept dropping back and shooting, taking my snipers.

eventually he dropped syvarris off back near his starting zone and I moved my sentinals up on the bridge, and took out theracus and syvarris a few turns later.

My sentinels, not far enough away from dead eye, were quickly eliminated.

I tried to salvage a victory with drake but it was to late....alas...another victory ripped from my hands....haha...

In your first battle you clearly underestimated your opponents figs. They had really blanced armies, while you and your opponent could of done better to balance your army. Tough luck though, oh well

I give you props for just trying the Gorillanators. Good reports. They get me itching for when we finally go heads up.

Glad to see some people interested.

I agree bobo that not all my my armies...probably most are not always as balanced as they could be...I just like to try different things.

Boom....I hope its sooner then later...I'm also looking forward to the time when we can throw down on the hexes....now on to saturday night.

500 point armies ...team play.

Myself; 2x roman legionaires, 2x Roman archers, Marcus, Guilty, and the Tagawa

My partner; 2x minions, Tealord, Me Burq Sa, and Marro Warriors.

Opponent #1; Jotun, Saylind, Syvarris, Dead Eye, and Theracus.

Opponene #2; Mcdirks bonded w/ Sir Denrick, Shotgun Sully, Sentinels, and the AE.

The board...Three and a half master sets, some lava, and 5 Rttff. Mosly flat board with some elevation, A 2 hex wide creek dividing the 2 opposing sides, with a 2 hex wide bridge (4 bridges put together) spanning the gap, with 2 smaller bridges on either side.

Initiative went to our opponents, and the first thing #1 did was used theracus to fly Dead eye up to a very advantages position, while #2 started bringing his sentinels around the right side up the small bridge.

My partner moved his minions towards their direction, and I moved my roman archers up towards the start of the bridge on our side.

With the first couple of rounds spent moving into position, and #1 using saylind to summon syvarris on the bridge, it wasn't long until Jotun was right up there with him.

The AE had dropped by this point and fortunately for me (#2 targed my archers and legionaires, and guilty) and I had most my guys left to take out the AE.

Soon #2 had brought his sentinels across the bridge to take out Tealord, and I moved my romans (with marcus) for support. Aye huge mellee insued, and tealord, followed by marcus, were destroyed. My romans took out the remaining sentinels. This left #2 with mcdirks, denrick, and shotgun.

My partner pushed his minions up the bridge to take on syvarris and Jotun. It took a bit but finally Syvarris was done, and my partners minions where the only ones that could really stand up to Jotun.

Denrick and the mrcdirks were taking the same path as the sentinels, and where soon engaged with some romans, so I sent my tagawa over to support them.

This allowed Theracus to move in dead eye to the bridge where he started picking people off, and soon all my tagawa where gone, but not before they took down Denrick.

The mcdirks were soon destroyed, as my partner concentrated his marros on the mcdirks.

Near the end shotgun was eliminated,

And the last of my romans moved up the bridge to engage theracus and dead eye. #1 used theracus to block the way for the romans. Slicing their way through him they engaged Dead eye (who wasn't moving to use his specials) and the rest...as they say...is history.

Probably one of the best team games I've played...and a huge thanks to my partner and oppnents for playing. Till next saturday.....
