Re: The Fantasy Scapers Project
I can help, although as I have said before I can't always get on, but can lend a hand in testing.

Re: The Fantasy Scapers Project
Sounds awesome, thanks!
I have some more customs on the way. I'm also going to put up a poll on the front post. EDIT: Except I forgot that you can't. Looking to fill that phrase with links.

Re: The Fantasy Scapers Project
I would be happy to help with this endever. Let me know what I can do to help.
61 tournaments. 144 - 129 - 1 overall record. 4 tournament wins. My goal, play every official 'scape unit in a tournament at least once. 139 down, 68 to go! |

Re: The Fantasy Scapers Project
Well, you'd be absolutely welcome to help design cards for the project. A couple of people have volunteered to play test, but no one to help create cards. Or if it's not our thing, you could still help play test and suggest stuff for cards. Right now, I'd like to know what historical stuff should be made for this project.

Re: The Fantasy Scapers Project
By designing cards you mean actual layout and graphics and pics? My computer skills are not that good, and I'm afraid I'd come up real short in that department.
Playtesting is all well and good, and I don't mind offering advice on units and such. Historical units. There are several Native tribes that could be fleshed out, including Aztecs and Mayans. An expansion of the "lawman" theme. Huns and Mongol hordes would be a welcome addition as well. Also civil war era soldiers are often asked for. The problem with that is making them different from the 4th Mass. and 10th foot, and I can see where someone might get offended. 61 tournaments. 144 - 129 - 1 overall record. 4 tournament wins. My goal, play every official 'scape unit in a tournament at least once. 139 down, 68 to go! |

Re: The Fantasy Scapers Project
I guess I can offer my services whenever I am available. I will be slowing my own customs production so I could give some time to this.
I will glad to help with card design as much as I can. The only problem I see is if you have multiple card designers who are using different programs. If we get multiple designers we might want to try to use one program, if possible, to have continuity in card appearance. Or, maybe it won't be as big a deal as that- we'll see. |

Re: The Fantasy Scapers Project
So, are we just going to be making customs from scratch or will we be reviewing already made customs for inclusion in this project?
I know Lamaclown has some very sweet customs in his section. 61 tournaments. 144 - 129 - 1 overall record. 4 tournament wins. My goal, play every official 'scape unit in a tournament at least once. 139 down, 68 to go! |

Re: The Fantasy Scapers Project
Well, I think that for now we should put together a list of figures we would like to see in classic scape to make customs of. I would like to see:
Golems Neanderthals Some war-based goblins (Goblins that are not necessarily chaotic, but fight with a purpose) I also have a couple cards that I've made, but I'm not necessarily saying that only customs I make should be in. I just want to start us off. And we need to stick to using commonly and cheaply available figures. Looking to fill that phrase with links.

Re: The Fantasy Scapers Project
I could help with this in my spare time. I wouldn't say I have a ton of experience, but I can certainly try.
So, looking at your first custom, I immediately see a few problems: It's a squad (presumably with 2 figures), but the hit zone only shows one of them. The class name should be plural. The point cost seems off. Compare them to the Minions of Utgar (at 110): Pros: 1 more attack (more like two due to deadly strike). 1 more range. 1 more move. Soulborg (immune to things like Marro Plague). Boost Blastatron attack when engaged. Cons: 1 fewer member. Unique. No flying. No Utgar's Orders (which I never bother using). Soulborg (vulnerable to Repulsors). I'd put them at 90. EDIT: Does the skull warder's attack bonus stack if you have more than one? To add to the list: Cho-Ko-Nu's (an ancient Chinese crossbow with rapidfire capabilities) More insects More primadons Centaurs Siege weapons/artillery (perhaps a civil war cannon?) We could always invent an alien race or two... Last edited by White Noise : February 4th, 2010 at 07:04 PM. Something tells me that the cancellation, though tragic, may indeed mend that divide... |

Re: The Fantasy Scapers Project
I would love to work on classic customs again, especially if there was something as organized as C3G or even the Star Wars customs. Someone had proposed the idea not too long ago, but this is the first attempt at it I've seen. What exactly is the structure here, though? Are you just posting random customs for people to critique and playtest? Needs to be a bit more organized than that.
