Custom Character - Diablo

This is my first character that I have created, hes actually a character from Bakugan. I bought the figure at Toys R Us, it looked like a perfect heroscape figure with a nice base. I'm thinking about changing his personality to tricky and his class type to darklord (to have some sort of synergy in the game)

Woah! Hell Spawn looks powerful. At least it's on a roll of 18 or higher, that means that if I ever played as him he would never be able to do it. (Damn my horrible rolls! )

But overall, nice custom.

I would suggest using proper spelling and grammar, it would make some people be more inclined to look at your post.

Regarding your custom:
I love the abilities on his card. He's powerful, however I think he could be safely dropped to 160. However, this would require much playtesting.

Nice work.

I have a couple of small suggestions.

For Lava Boulder...
It says "...5 spaces in a straight line...all figures on those spaces are affected by...". Unless you mean for him not to need clear LOS to attack a figure with this attack you may want to reword it to say "...all figures in clear sight on those spaces are affected by..." (this is how Mimring's Line of Fire is worded).

For Hell Spawn...
You may want to add "...when moving with Hell Spawn." to the end of the last sentence. As it is worded now it could be taken to mean he never receives leaving engagement wounds but his flying ability says he does. Usually, unless it is a stealth type of ability that always works, if a special ability prevents leaving engagement wounds when used it will specifically state "...when using/moving with <special ability>."

The card looks great!

Its nice to see a first custom that has all caps in all the right places. It may seem like a small thing, but it is one of those things that gives a touch of "officialness" to a card.

i think he is good at 170 because of his hell spawn move, it's a unique move that definitely has its advantages. Also, at 170 im not tempted to pick him every single time.

I agree with Tubafiction, but the reason I would drop his points to 150-160 is:
-average defense
-average lives
-no bonding
The last one is definitely a weakness he has.
Hell Spawn is a great power(really!) but I don't think it should add much to his point value. In some games it might not be used at all. It should just be one of those things that's really good if you have good dice.

If you like 170, I would make a custom demon squad w/bonding(which would be awesome).

Overall really cool customs!

I think making him a darklord makes sense, and it would justify his point cost. I could see a fun army:

Isamu 500

On a different note, you might want to alter the lava boulder to:
Lava Boulder Special Attack
Range: Special Attack:3

Sorry, but it needs to have LOS, otherwise the boulder can go through walls, ruins, and cliffs. While heroscape is a fantasy game, I think ehterreal rocks are pushing it a bit.

Yeah, nobody in the game has anything like this and that is why I think it should bring up his point value. I don't know about you but I draft armies to the type of map. So, you could argue that in some games he is the best character.

Yeah, I thought about it and I do need to re-word the Lava Boulder special attack.


I do think 170 might be the perfect point value for this character. If he wasn't a Darklord you could argue that he is overpriced, but he bonds with Wolves of Badru and they actually work very well together.

You could have Lava Boulder be able to hit figures on a lower elevation than Diablo's base. That would be the equivalent of a boulder being able to roll off a cliff. As long as those five spaces go down, but not up, then you'd be fine.

I'd also add in "up to 5 spaces" so you can attack figures in a 3 space line before the boulder hits a cliff. The wording now requires it to be five complete spaces, no less.

That is, if you do decide to use my idea.
