Easy Custom Treasure Glyphs
I have been thinking about it for a while.
You can use location glyps as you always have, however it is an "almost official" custom. Just replace the words "all figures in your army" with "this figure". These could all be used as wepons and armor mods on a specific card: Glyph of Astrid (Attack +1) Glyph of Ulaniva (Unique Attack +1) Glyph of Gerda (Defense +1) Glyph of Jalgard (Defense +2) Glyph of Ivor (Range +4) Glyph of Valda (Move +2) Glyph of Thorian (Thorian) While these could be magic items Glyph of Lodin (Lucky Twenty-Sider) Glyph of Dagmar (Initiative +eight) Glyph of Wannok (Wound) These would be excellent one time use spells to muck up the works: Glyph of Kelda (Healer) Glyph of Erland (Summoning) Glyph of Mitonsoul (Massive Curse) Glyph of Nilrend (Negation) *MOVED* Glyph of Oreld (Intercept Order) *MOVED* Glyph of Sturla (Revive) *MOVED* The only one that doesn't really fit is: Glyph of Crevcor (Common Attack +1) Glyph of Rannveig (Wind) *MOVED* I doubt Taelord would cost to much with: +3 def, +2 attack, +2 move, with thorian speed, and almost always going first, and inflicting a wound every round. Heck Taelord with Thorian Speed would be awsome. Last edited by wriggz : December 16th, 2009 at 06:18 PM. |

Re: Easy Custom Treasure Glyphs
I'd move Sturla, Nilrend and Oreld to "one time spells", and I'd move Rannvieg and Dagmar to "doesn't really work" but otherwise it looks good.
I'd love to have Cyp carrying around Lodin. |

Re: Easy Custom Treasure Glyphs
I think if a figure is going to haul around a +2 shield, the treasure glyph should also reduce the figure's movement by 1.

Re: Easy Custom Treasure Glyphs
I could see Dagmar working--something like, as long as one order marker is on this card, add +8 to iniative. It would be powerful, but could work. (Sort of like super Capuan Glads!)
I think Wannok is quite strong, worse than Dagmar, actually. Again, though, I'd see it at least requiring an order marker on the card to use it that round (maybe even make it have to be the "3" order marker, since the power wouldn't come into effect until the OMs are revealed anyway--whoever has Wannok is going to be quite the target!). Most of the rest of these, we've used in some scenarios as portable glyphs. Good times. I'm excited to see that we'll now have an easy (color-coded New? Re: Easy Custom Treasure Glyphs
One thing that we have played with the last two weeks is putting the Chest of Bandar Treasure Glyph into the mix with the fixed treausre glyphs and the first person to flip it over gets to determine then if they want it to be the attack, defense or healing potion glyph.

Re: Easy Custom Treasure Glyphs
I think you can make Rannveig work. Just have it so that instead of denying flight, it gives the power of flight.

Re: Easy Custom Treasure Glyphs
I always used normal glyphs like this, and I until recently never used them (affects game wayyyy to much (cough, defense +2))
As far as some of those, though, I figured that some would be traps. (For instance, common attack +1 would give all enemy common figures attack plus 1 for the next three turns). Other trap ideas include: Wind: wind to your figures only. Massive curse: massive curse to your figures only, and can't be affected by glyph of lodin or any other 20d powers. Wound, inflicts 2 wounds to whoever steps on it. Dagmar, whoever steps on it can't move or attack for next 2 turns (I don't use order markers and it's a lightning bolt, ok?). Intercept order, immedeately ends your turn.Negation, negates the powers of whoever steps on it. Pitfall, well, you know. Summoning, summons an enemy squad nearby (squad varies by scenario). I can't think of any other good traps off the top of my head, but that just seemed to make more sense to me than a 20d roll (obviously all treasure glyphs in this kind of scenario are face down). One day, I will have my revenge! |
