Re: Gargantuan blue dragon custom

Well, I was thinking that he can be like an epic quest monster, and that you have to slay the dragon. He starts out in a cave full of treasure glyphs, while our heroes are on the other side, mowing through his orc/drow minions.

I think you're right. I'll change him to something...... not a beast......

How does he move on a board? I assume he would take up more than 2 spaces.

I was considering cutting mine off of his D&D base to see what size base he would fit on, but then I saw how much he was going for on Ebay, loose...

Not too much, but still, I wouldn't like to mutilate him. That there is enough to buy my next unit: The Colossal Skeleton.

I used it once, and it takes up like 6 spaces.

Commander GD Woo who?
Re: Gargantuan blue dragon custom

One thing with the "treasure guardian" power, it may mean that he is either unplayable/ very vunerable. Especially since I am guessing that at least 20% of tournements will have non-DnD maps, it would mean your entire 1000 point army could not be placed, and that would absolutely suck.

However, he is a very nice unit!

Edit: Another thing, under "incredible power", you may want to allow terrian benefits so that he can have height.

Well, I'm only planning to have him be usable in my "temple of Fear" scenario or something D&D related, so it really won't matter too much. Also, in the Temple of Fear scenario, the area is rather flat, so it won't really matter too much in that scenario. Even then, he is immune to ANY bonuses used against him (thus why he is so expensive), so he doesn't need any bonuses beyond his already incredible strength.

besides, I don't think tournements allow customs.

Thanks for your critique, though.

How did you work with it as far as movement goes?

Re: Gargantuan blue dragon custom

Well, he pretty much moved on a 6-space hex, so he really was limited by movement. however, on a flat map, he works perfect, since nothing can really get in the way. The areas he can fight in are REALLY flat, like the volcarren wasteland map.

Re: Gargantuan blue dragon custom

Now that's a dragon to think twice about attacking! When I read "Incredible Power," I thought it would be something to do with an offensive ability. Given that this is really a defensive ability, what do you think of calling it something like:
a. Fortified Constitution
b. Aura of Immunity
c. Aura of the Great One

Good trades: Just_A_Bill x3, Gypsy x2, Django, outforblood, eternaldream, Gromazeka, Sup3rS0n1c, jordy40 x2, BobofDeath's Dad, CheddarLimbo, delphic, Jesusfreak13, Tysac, GeneralRolando, Frylock.

Re: Gargantuan blue dragon custom

Fortified constitution sounds like the best one. Auras affect other units.

Re: Gargantuan blue dragon custom

Epic could be his size, I didn't see anything there. I EXPECT to see this in your dungeon, once you get one.

Really nice look and overall abilities are good. I suppose you could use him in a "throne room" type map, if there is very little height. If you only plan to use him for a boss, you can have as mountainous terrain as you want in the other rooms.

Oh, yes, I forgot the size. And he is in my dungeon, the temple of fear. His area is quite flat.
