Since, the word "spin" has a completely different meaning from the word "roll" and the rules say "roll the dice" not "spin the dice", I would say he has to "ROLL" them. If he doesn't, do as Oncacara suggests, kick him you know where.

While I usually roll the dice, I spin it when I'm bored. and sometimes during the game my opponent takes a long time setting up his order markers. So jokingly, I spin the dice and say, "You have till my dice stops spinning to set up your order markers" problem is my dice spins for up to 30 seconds. (counted once)

We have a similar rule. At our house it is "Roll the dice like a normal person or I will kick you in the onions" Rule.

Its a little different at my house. Its "Roll the dice like a normal person or I will pelt you with my dice until I run out." They hurt.

I had this long post about dice rolling all typed out and I just deleted it.

Bottom line is people know if they're pulling shenanigans or not. If they won't roll the dice randomly like they should it's because they KNOW what they are doing gives them an advantage and as a result they are cheaty cheaters.

Agreed. House rule: If you're a cheat, or you're too loud while watching, I get to throw a die at you and if it's a skull, you "die".

I have a 4", 1.2lb marble d6 on my shelf. If I catch someone cheeting, the player takes 1d6 damage!
