Preview, or not?
Ona should be happy that I'm creating another poll!
Anyway, do you prefer seeing the card(s) for new units, or not so much? I vote no, because it takes the surprise away from getting a new unit. I think that the Wave 9 preview was cool, but that just took away the fun of seeing the stats after getting the pack(s). I only have the heroes from Wave 9 and 3x the Capuans, and I might (probably will) get at least one squad of the dwarves. I haven't been getting the Wave 9 packs because there was no surprise. What is your opinion on card previews? Last edited by 'Scaper94 : September 26th, 2009 at 05:33 PM. |

If you don't like it, don't look.

Re: Preveiw, or not?
I checked "no" but the reason given doesn't match mine.
This isn't the point for me. What I like is the information overload that happens when we have a whole wave's worth of information dumped on us in one go, along with the units. People are playing with them, trying all the different stuff, sharing ideas as they emerge and so on. With the current drip-feed system, every unit gets extensively analysed; there's no real space for a slow-grower to emerge. |

I can't help myself, it's like I'm lock in a room filled with cookies and I have to eat my way out. I. Must. Look. Can't. Stop. Myself. I'll. Just . Read. One. Card. Just. One. I would rather bite the belly of the beast as it swallows me whole then run from it!

Re: Preveiw, or not?
![]() Not to mention, as much of a Heroscape addict as I am, the possibility exists that a new unit might hold so little interest for me that I wouldn't want to buy it sight unseen. If I had to buy a pack without knowing what the units did, it would be almost like buying blind purchase. I also don't see how previews "take the surprise away." You're surprised at the moment you see the previews, aren't you? The only difference is that you're not physically opening a pack of figures. ![]() My DC customs thread My Marvel customs thread My Lord of the Rings customs thread Did you get hooked through Marvelscape? Re: Preveiw, or not?
I agree with Sherm that previews serve as a buying guide, although I buy it all anyhow. More important, since we may get previews 6 months before actual issue, the figures get put into the mix of 'play and discuss' with proxies that much earlier. Which is a good thing.
