Mass Tourny Thread ** New Pix on Pg 11! **

Decided to start a thread for all the post-game banter, taunting, pictures, scores, etc. It was an awesome event. Honestly, my only complaint was that I could have stayed for about two more rounds.

By far the best part of the day was meeting everyone. BISTRO!!!! Where were you? We will be taking up a collection to get your car fixed...

Matt and T. - it was great to meet you. Matt, I wish I had like an hour to sit down and hang with you.

KMPags - We need to get our boys together for a little father/son day.

ASmiles - you got lucky punk. Next time I will crush you.

Ninja - you are the bomb. We will need to collaborate to develop our Elvis impersonator squad.

Relative of Ninja - again, a HUGE thank you. You know what I'm talking about.

Dan - you got even more lucky than Asmiles. I need a rematch.

Egg, Hack and Joe - Thank you big time for coming down Sat night to help build. Egg - you are the mix master. Hack - proving once again that the orcs are insanely competitive when played by a tactical stud, which is what you are. Joe - you were there til the bitter end setting up and tearing down. THANK YOU.

Constantine - you came, you saw, you conquered (okay, so that was Julius Caesar). Congrats dude. You're a gaming machine.

Bobbo and BWS2K - Thanks for hiking down from NH. I know it was a haul, but it wouldn't have been the same without you.

Jim - You are the MAN. Those name tags were works of art. The blown up maps of Valhallah were exquisite. Looking forward to hanging with you at our next tourny.

Fox Urine - Great to see you, and I'm sure we'll connect again. Sorry you got creamed so bad, but looked like you were having fun.

Chaddy - Game 1 - he wiffs with 6 sentinels 6 times in a row. Could someone calculate the odds of rolling blanks on 4 defense dice 6x in a row???

Robbo - What can I say? The newb places in the prize pool! Glad you can come and we'll keep you posted on fufutre throwdowns.

Dave - Our battle was classic. Mimring vs. Q9. My favorite slugfest of the day.

And last but not least - OPrime: you are the man of the hour. Thank you for all the hours you poured into this. Words are insufficient. It was a pleasure and honor to do this tourny with you and I can't wait for our next event.

Pix should be on the way. I didn't bring a camera, but there were lots-o-pix being taken by various members.

I placed 6th. I'm pretty certain the guys ahead of me cheated, but still working on attaining solid evidence. Will keep you posted.

I went with a simple army - Q9 and Minions x2. In the two games I lost, I made a tactical error with Q9, pushing him a little too far our front, which is where I usually tend to err in my gameplay - being too aggressive.

Me too

Righto, amazing time. My hats off to all of you, except Constantine who, apparently, has developed a real-life version of Ne-Gok-Sa's mind control.

All went well, though Bobbo and I got lost on the way back. Well, not Lost. We didn't crash onto a "deserted island".

Gotta go! Charos rules!

M-5, R-1, A-4, D-3 - Special Tortilla Attack: If BWS2K is currently eating tortilla chips, add 2 to his attack roll. Special Caffeine Move: If BWS2K is consuming a caffeinated beverage, add 3 to his movement.

Thanks again guys for a great day.

I think I tied for 6th. I was Jim's lone victim, and then won 2 outright, and squeaked by in points against Shawn's orc armada as time ran out in my last game. Each game I played was pretty tense.

My newb army consisted of:

Syvarris
Raelin
Drake
Izumi Samarai
Me-Burq-Sa

I meant to take a bunch of photos, but I ended up only getting a few of the tables. I'm sure there are much better pictures to come. Part of my problem was that in all 4 of my games we used up all or most of the time so I didn't have a chance to browse around the other games.

The maps were all great, spread out over three long tables. Note the careful placement of air freshener.

A long view.

Part of the third table. In the background on the wall you can see S.S.M.A.S.H.'s motto: "Train, Don't Complain."

An action shot, Syvarris in the canyons of the Osgiliath map, lighting up Sir Denrick behind a samarai screen.

I'd say my favorite map, both visually and for game play, was the Osgilioth map. Hope someone got a clear picture of it.

OPrime - would you mind posting all the final scores and standings?

Pilgrim,

I think the scoreboards were put in your van, unless you handed them off to OPrime when you were unloading the tables. (meaning you have the final standings and scores.)

My (4th Place) Army:

Me Burq Sa
Roman Legions
Marro Warriors
Drake
2X Aubrien Archers

Egg

BTW guys sounds like you had a great time. As I said before, I may be able to attend one of these games sometime in the future. Its a bit of a drive but I may give it a shot. Who knows.

My army was an all Einar army:

Marcus Decimus Gallus
2x Roman Legionairres
2x Roman Archers
Sacred Band
Guilty McCreech

Total 390pts.

My record was 2 wins, 2 losses. Battlefield D was the battleground from hell. Theracus got Syvarris up there for Kevin, and slowly my army dwindled as I fought so hard to climb up the castle. I got to kill stupid Theracus, but alas, I only wounded Syvarris twice. It was sad to see an army of 20 figures destroyed by one archer...

The matches were all fun, and much like Pilgrim, I could've played another 2-3 rounds... Heroscape is too damn fun to only be teased with 4 matches. I loved meeting everyone and yes I agree Pilgrim, I wish I could've talked a little longer with you. Wish I had hung out a little longer to chat.

Like I said in the other thread, if anyone is ever interested to once and a while get some scapin' in with Tina and I, I can PM my cell number and wouldn't mind driving out to play some matches.

It takes a revolution to begin evolution...
