Not a bad start "Noob". I think you've got the right approach. Write down whatever flows from your head before you look at any other custom cards made for that character. After you spill it out, check out the others and feel free to borrow ideas from the community.
Just watch out, it gets addicting. |

Mockingbird
West Coast Avenger Human Unique Hero Agent Compassionate Life 4 Move 6 Range 1 Attack 4 Defense 4 Points 120 Battlestaff Strike Special Attack Range 4 Attack 3 When Mockingbird attacks with her Battlestaff Strike Special Attack, she may attack 1 additional time. To Kill A Mockingbird When Mockingbird defends against a normal attack from an adjacent figure, she may roll 1 additional die. All excess shields count as unblockable hits on the attacking figure. I got the idea for To Kill A Mockingbird additional defense die roll in concert with counterstrike from Balantai's Wildcat. I wanted her to be better defensively in close quarters than against range. To me that is his main strength. It's still called a "die" if you're just adding one.
Those changes are cool - I'm not sure I was convinced Hawkeye was enough of a leader to motivate two Avengers to move in his place - but it's your interpretation, so I can roll with it either way. I think you can lose that last "its" in Chairman's Orders and be just fine. I do like that he's less dependent on the group to make it in a game now. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Great job on some initial customs, Hahma!
For Hawkeye, if you didn't want to increase his base attack to 4, you could change double attack to triple attack. Also, if you want to up the usefullness of his single Special Attack vs his normal double/triple attack, you can play with the ranges. Make the double attack at range 5 and the single attack at range 8 or 9. Just throwing out some ideas. |

I've read in my '80's Marvel Universe, that Hawkeye was trained in fighting by Captain America (or got lessons from him anyway). And he's a big fellow at 6'3", so I would rather keep the normal attack at 4 and keep it as a double attack, because even if I dropped his attack to 3 and made it a triple attack, I can't see him doing a triple attack in melee. But, I do like reducing the normal attack range to 5 as you suggested and raising his special attack range to 9. I was also wanting to do Energy Re-Route 16, whereas if he takes enough wounds to be killed, roll the d20. Good thought I just did some down powering of some of the official powers in my Valhalla customs thread. Not that there is any activity over there.
“PACK LEADER Before acting with a Pack Leader, you may first act with any one Gnoll Common Squad that will start or end its movement within 6 spaces of the Pack leader. FRENZY If attacked roll the die 20 on a 10 or better you may attack back after you defend on a 15 or better, you may attack back before removing the figure even if it is destroyed.” These are down powered Bonding and Counterstrike respectively.
