questions not answered in rule book

new to marvel heroscape and had a few questions that werent clear to me in the rule book:

1) after your character is attacked then you defend, do you have to attack back or can you just leave the battle?

2) it seems that once you engage someone or you are engaged that a passing swipe is ALWAYS used. is there anyway to avoid this ?

3) are special travel powers like hulks super jump used instead of their normal movements at times or are the special travel powers only used when jumping up a level ?

4) lets say i have 2 characters next to a foe. do i attack then my foe defends, i attack with each of my characters then my foe defends both attacks or, can i only attack with one of my characters per turn ?

5) anyone know of a site where i can buy extra battle ground pieces? the game is fun but, it seems like i can go accross the game field in like 2 turns. just wanted to expand to it.

Re: questions not answered in rule book

1) That is covered in the section about engagements.

2)Don't leave engagements.

3)Read the card, it's fully explained.

4) Again, read the rulebook which fully explains combat.

5) You can buy additional master sets (I highly recommend Rise of the Valkerie) from many places online. Check the front page of Heroscapers.com and on the left side are several reputable online sites that sell heroscape stuff.

Now through May 28th, the Louisville region is in desperate need of platelets - call the Red Cross if you are interested in donating!

After you defend, you wait until your next turn. If your turn is on that figure you can attack back or leave the engagement. It's up to you.

Any time you leave an engagement you receive the passing swipe, the only way to avoid this is to never disengage.

Special movement abilities are used instead of the normal movement, it has no activation requirements.

On your turn you can only use the figure(s, if you happen to have any squads) that you have placed the order marker on (unless otherwise stated as in Red Skull's case) you attack and then your opponent defends and then your turn is pretty much over.

Not if you were looking for only terrain... but the master sets for the original heroscape have plenty of it (and some new figures! ) or you could get a double of the Marvel Set...

And all of the questions (except for #5) are answered in the rulebook, so you might want to reread it some time

Welcome to the game!

Whether to believe or disbelieve, it is a wicked thing to take away men’s hope.
