500 point Marro army?

the marro are a very strong army, but they would probably be more dominant if I actually knew how to use them. Can you guys help me with that? I need a 500 point marro army. I have one SotM.

Don't listen to him, if you are going total Marro domination, you need the hive. Nothing is more fun than endless waves of stingers and drudges. In a 500 point game, the hive might be a little too costly, but at 600+, you best be getting the hive...

Don't listen to him. The hive rarely rebirth their point value. They are too big a target (literally and figuratively). SBN tends to add more value to a Marro army.

I like Orcs Blade's army, but I'd switch Dividers for the Drudge. I know that you have one SOTM, but you can buy Dividers now in Wave 9.

The following army is probably the best. I know you don't have enough figures, but I just proxy other pieces. I have played the Drudge as Stingers more than I have played them as Drudge...

It depends on the map. The hive thrives in epic games where it would take the opponent a while to reach your hive, and then finally realize you have met him halfway with your Marro horde.

On small maps, the hive sucks.

"Don't listen to him." What!!!!!! Don't listen to me!!!!! But but but...I'm to awesome for that. Seriously though, the hive is a little to costly. It, as Rich10 pointed out, rarely rebirths its points. It gives the advantage of the opponent not knowing who you're going to activate, but for 170pts, you can do a lot better. Try 3x stingers for 10 extra points.

Here's my latest Marro Army of choice:

WSG - 135
Stingersx2 - 120
Houndsx2 - 180
Nagrubsx2 - 60

You've got a few more units than standard. If you find yourself playing against a stickler, shed a few 'grubs. Hounds + Stingers is just a combo too good to pass by, even with such a high space cost. The best part of the army is its capacity to operate on complete contingency; WSG can menace "out of the gate" if there's a cheerleader needs an early game grave or you can just bring forth the Stingers to pick off the opponent's range before you close in with plague hounds (thus using the hivelord as an above average clean up given the 1:4 chance towards insta-kill). Even a heavy hitter will have to contend with the auto heal and bonding received by nagrubs. Even tie up pieces will feel the burn from the Hounds. Though, admittedly, rats and Bros. Q won't sweat that contingent (but as those two drafts are already a headache for most units no pass no foul).

My usual 500 point army is

Su-Bak-Na - 160
Ne-Gok-Sa - 90
Marro Warriors - 50
Marro Stangers(x2) - 120
Marrden Nagrubs(x2) - 60

Total - 480

I use this because it can function equaly well as an attack or defense based team depending on how the game is playing out.

Most Marro armies are Stinger-heavy. However, I like Wo-Sa-Ga, who is my favorite Marro hands down. One of my favorite Marro-only armies is the following:

Marro Drones X 3 = 150 +
Marro Stingers X 2 = 270 +
Wo-Sa-Ga = 405
Nagrubs X 3 = 495

Wo-Sa-Ga is like an inspired Gladiator and the Nagrubs give him better playability.
