Welcome to the site!

It is tough sometimes translating an already established character into HS. Comic book characters especially sometimes are tough to do without making them over powered or overcrowded on the card.

Some characters have so many things that make them "them" that it hard to decide what to put in and what to leave out.

Reading over Morbius, everything seems so "him" it is hard to decide what to take out, if anything.

If you haven't already, I would recommend reading the article Measuring and Importing Power . It has some good insight specifically for creating super hero customs.

You have some very creative powers (e.g., Tentacle Throw) on these cards, and although powerful, they don't seem game-breaking. I like them a lot. The figures also appear to be priced quite well. Some play-testing should help you zero-in on the best point-cost.

I just wanted to point out a couple typos on the cards:

Morbius's Strength of Will has 'of' instead of 'or' in it and the second custom has 'insted' instead of 'instead'.

About my cards...

Omega Red and Morbius
My first cards... This is when I started getting into the HeroScape game itself. I always imagined these characters the way I made them.. I also made them (like johnny sorrow and thinker) because I had the figures and no card. I think it's been almost a year now and nobody's made one on here. I find that odd seeing as how Omega and Morbius are very common characters.

Johnny Sorrow
at first i thought johnny sorrow was a little overpriced having 4 defense and 4 life. and seeing as how he can be easily destroyed in one shot by someone such as superman i was thinking of beefing him up a bit but then i just decided to drop his point value.. although he can die quickly he gets where he needs to be fast with his teleport and at times can get out of a jam with his disengage and 16+...
its all hope that when he gets where hes going he surrounds himself by enemies with a little luck of the D20 on his side...

The Thinker
the thinker was underpriced at first.. i moved it up in point value because of his heavy defense, special ranged attack, and ability to have a friendly figure take a turn (within 3) after his ends...
this card can be very handy using the psionic wave, ending your turn, and having another one of your figures cause some trouble right after (not to mention the thinker has a mind shackle ability)

Spider-Man 2099... now, ive wanted to make a card for him for a long time. but i took my time seeing as how its not quite the spider-man we're used to. the comic character isnt peter parker at all in fact its miguel o'hara. he has a lot of the same abilities as spider-man but a couple things are different.
he has become a human/spider hybrid and has grown one inch talons on his fingertips.
his web is stronger.
he doesnt have spider-sense but a very enhanced hearing and vision. he can see a bug on a leaf while standing on top of a 3 story building, see perfectly in complete darkness, and see objects moving extremely fast almost in a "matrix-style" no blur way. he could also hear that bug walking on the leaf.
he also has the lyte byte cape which enables him to glide upon decent.
as you can see i enjoyed making this card. at first i thought this card was also overpriced... until it went toe to toe with cards like big barda.



Venom
I made this Venom the way he was in the Maximum Carnage and Separation Anxiety era. I had the ideas for Carnage and the Symbiote army swimming in my head so i decided to work on a Venom that maintained the same personality. His Fury Smash reminds me of when he would battle symbiotes 5 at a time and pound the ground in the middle of them all. His Wild Toss was made for obvious reasons. How many times has Venom thrown Spidey or Carnage through a wall or thrown something at them? seriously... haha.
At one point I almost edited this card. I had some criticism concerning the 250 points and the Wild Toss for Venom. But this card stands its ground against Carnage and the Symbiote army too well and handles situations just as Venom would and should. ---I DO need to fix one thing though. I forgot to specify that his Wild Toss must stay within 5 levels if the figure is thrown upward.. editing that soon--- so, speaking of Carnage.....

Carnage and the Symbiotes
Heres another thing Ive wanted to do for a long time.
I always wanted to make a Carnage that spawned Symbiotes but I never knew how I could do it and make it "fair" so, I thought about it for a long time. Priced at 300, this 7Attack 2Range symbiote spawning Carnage is my most meticulous creation yet. First off, the 2Range... It's Carnage... He can reach you. And second, the Symbiote Spawns... Killing a figure that isnt a mechanical figure or undead gives Carnage the ability to remove a wound and spawn a Symbiote.. These Symbiotes arent nearly as strong as they should be.. In the comics they were almost as strong as Carnage (some were even stronger) but seeing as how they can be drafted OR spawned, the Symbiote army with Carnage is a perfect team where it is. If I made the Symbiotes any stronger, I would have to make Carnage A LOT more points than 300, and I didn't want to make a ridiculous card. You can just draft all, or at least some of the Symbiotes, spreading the (Symbiote/Symbiote Spawn only) bonuses around from the start. So seeing as how Symbiotes and Symbiote bonuses are a rarity in the MarvelScape world, I hope to have boosted the names of Carnage and his Symbiote Spawns a little bit because they have to be one of the most interesting (and my favorite) things in the Marvel universe.


By the way... I want to point something out. Venom's Swing Line doesn't say he may disengage using it. But he has a Spider Sense that allows it. Carnage's Swing Line does have disengaging though. Here's why... I figure Venom wouldn't stop attacking someone unless he really needed to. Carnage on the other hand will get right in there, do his thing, and leave right after if he has to. I think by giving Venom a Spider Sense roll without a Swing Line that ALWAYS has disengaging, it creates a more aggressive "I won't back down" personality, while at the same time giving Carnage a more unpredictable or insane image with his lack of Spider Sense yet constant disengaging. The Symbiotes don't have Spider Sense or a Swing Line that disengages. Well... Agony can disengage with her flying... That's about it though.


Dazzler
I have the figure that matches the image on this card perfectly. Its one of my top ten favorites out of our collection of figures. Looks like she's playing a Fender Strat.
Anyway, I took some ideas from here and added one of my own... her defense booster... I thought to myself, "She plays a guitar, so her team would like that.. so why not add a defense die to them as long as no enemies are around her. She would most likely set the guitar down and focus on battle when an enemy is close." haha
There are obvious reasons why she doesnt need to be in clear sight of the figures affected by Soothing Music... It's sound... But because it's sound, it doesnt work for figures 30 levels higher or lower than her. They can't hear her.

Pied Piper & Trickster
I always had the figure shown on the card but never knew what to do with it. I ended up printing off IAmBatman's cards for each figure and just used them both (excluding the flying for Trickster because he's cuffed to Pied Piper). But I figured why not make a card with a picture of the figure(s) and the ability to blend the two best specials from their cards. All abilities and stats on this card weren't my ideas. All credit goes to IAmBatman... I just threw them together and made a quick card so I could use my figure.

Cloak & Dagger
My uncle got an outstanding figure that was Cloak with Dagger peaking out of his... cloak... I had no idea what to make this figure do that hadn't already been done. I did my wiki homework and came up with the best fitting abilities to combine both of their talents into one card. I may not have been very original... but the card is great the way it is. It fits the two characters very well.

Shriek
You cant have Maximum Carnage without Shriek. Everything about this card is based on the comic. The Maniacal Romance speaks for itself... if one character dies, the other will lose their extra defense yet gains an extra attack (simulating rage of course)

Black Suit Superman and Supergirl
Thank you wiki... I hate making DC characters... I made these because I bought my uncle a Black Suit Superman figure for Christmas and there weren't cards made for him and Supergirl that had any relevance to the storyline.. I honestly hate Superman. Never liked any of the comics, movies, ect.. But he's one of my uncles favorite heroes so I went the extra mile and made these cards for him. He kicked major @$$ in playtesting using these cards. Well balanced points and well worth spending a little over 500 to have them both in your army. They became an instant hit with the gang... For those of you who don't know... Superman was constantly assisted by Supergirl (Matrix) who was created by Lex Luthor (hense the "feelings"). Superman was only at the top of his game (or appeared to be) when she was around.

Those look really cool.
I am new to all this but with the Thinker, wouldn't it be easier or more official sounding if you called it Psionic Blast Special Attack? Then you could drop the last phrase about it replacing his normal attack. Just my noob observation.

not a noob thing at all to ask that question. and its a good one too. you see, some cards (ive noticed at least) use wording as such and some do like you said. but my fellow players and i have been making cards lately that have a special move that they can perform before their move and/or attack such as johnny sorrow's behind the mask. the reason i tend to word it like that is to cover any confusion.

i just noticed this.. Thinker's PSIONIC BLAST text is bigger than the other specials.... like it stretched... eff it... haha i didnt save anything on my computer when it came to making that card. had the figure and no card so i just made it out of my uncles idea to just add a bunch of classic moves to one character. id have to start from scratch fixing it. there, i made it so no one mentions it to me again haha. game on
