Question I'm a new Heroscape player, what should I get?

Alright, so several weeks ago, my friend introduced me to Heroscape, and I really liked it, so I got the Swarm of the Marro master set. Later I got two expansion sets: Soldiers and Wolves and Minutemen and Wolves. 3 days ago I ordered Rise of the Valkyrie.

What expansion sets should I get next?

Raknar's Vision (Heroes of Lindesfarme): it has Major Q9 and Nilfheim, two very competitive figures.

I would suggest in the future using the "Search" button located at the top of the page, and search "best expansions" under "thread titles only." It will yield a great assortment of threads already on this topic.

Welcome!

Re: I'm a new Heroscape player, what should I get?

Well before you get Another Expansion You need to know the difference between an Expansion and a Master set. An Expansion is a little package that has up to Four to five people unless you got the Castle Expansion or the Lava Expansion ect. The Master set is a Big Rectangler box That has lots of characters and some and lots of peices of land. The last Master set you should get is Marvelscape. Marvelscape has Marvel characters like Spiderman Wolverine ect. If you want to know more about Heroscape send a message To "Nathify".

He obviously understands the difference between master sets and expansions. Also, I don't believe that the Marvel set is generally considered a 'master set', but I suppose that's a matter of opinion. Wolverine is not in the Marvel set. Some people have made Wolverine customs, however.

I'm beginning to think that you and Nathify are the same person.

Anyway- on the original thread topic- welcome to the site and the game, Jarrod! Mr. Migraine's advice was good. There is tons of information around.

I'm selling a bunch of Heroscape stuff to pay for personal emergencies, please see my trade thread post: http://www.heroscapers.com/community...postcount=6803

Welcome!
That and Orm's return. That will give you a bunch of VERY powerful and versatile figures with which to truly get started. With wave 9 packs (basically expansions. For ~$12.00 you get a couple of cards/figures) getting released in literally days, you might want to go to a local game store or wal-mart and grab some of those too.

I think Orms Return is 1 of the last to get. The pieces are really substandard when compared to the other 2 Large Hero Expansions

Su-bak-na, charos, brunak, DW8k? Really? I can see why you would think that, but in my opinion its definetely Raknar's then Orm's then whatever the last one is with sujoah and zelrig.

Now, if you mean last to get of all the large expansions thats one thing, but of all the expansions out there only a few are even available at this point. IMO Charos, Su-Bak-Na and Brunak are just awesome to have.

edit: Oh, and jarrod, incase you have no idea what we are talking about...

Re: I'm a new Heroscape player, what should I get?

My first sets were raknar's vision and swarm of the marro and it worked out greatly for me. Q9, stingers, and many other great figures. Next I'd get raknar's vision or orm's return. Btw subakna is a great addition to any marro army.

Re: I'm a new Heroscape player, what should I get?

I think my first large expansion was orm's return, then raknars. All of the other waves I got when I joined (after wave 6 was out) is now out of stock. It was mostly 5 and 6. I would recommend that you get some wave 1 and wave 9 (which is all you can get). I personally like the Romans from wave one, but you should look in the "Books" in the official units section. I also got all of the terrain expansions early.

Here I have a link, this is the list of the best figures Anyone that is listed that is a common squad, you should probably get three of if you want to be good, but if your just playing for fun, get a ton of hero packs.
Welcome to the site by the way, when you are wondering about something consult this, http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?p=546714#post546714 or search before making a new thread, because if you don't follow that rule you'll meet Onacara
