Movie: Where the Wild Things Are

For anyone who hasn't seen it here is the trailer for the film adaptation of one of the best children's books of all time.

Not quite sure what I think of it yet. In a way I am glad its not very CGI heavy but in another way the Wild Things look too muppet like.

(Sorry it won't let me post the video here)

I'm NOT going to go see this movie. I do agree with you that the Wild Things look like muppets, a fact that bugs me to no end. And I also agree that WtWTA is one of the greatest children's books ever!

Your curiosity will be the death of you....

Re: Movie: Where the Wild Things Are

I was excited when I first heard that this was being made into a movie, and I love how the wild things look, but I am probably not going to watch it. Based on the preview, it looks like they added too much drama to the story-and I know, they have to fill an hour and a half, but it still looks like a bunch of junk that I don't want cluttering up my idea of the book.

The thing is that the movie appears to take the book itself and the story behind the book and intermingles them.

Re: Movie: Where the Wild Things Are

My family and wife are all going to see it, so I plan on getting they're opinion before I finalize my own. I am also going to do some research before it comes out to see how much input the original author had in the script. I'm not completely refusing to see it, I just want to make sure that it won't ruin anything.

Another thing holding me back is that I don't like what I've seen of Spike Jonze's previous work (Being John Malkovich and Adaptation)

Re: Movie: Where the Wild Things Are

This looks OK. There's actually a Metallica song called "Where the Wild Things Are". It seems to be about toys at war, in some kind of freaky dream world.
But everyone else has to have some kind of negativer opinion.

Demerge Disney And Marvel!!!
