special power?

On cards such as mimiring, nif, and dw9k when it says sepcial attack in bold letters, doesnt that mean you can only use it once? If you didnt, then why didnt the creators just make mimirings range 8? and have him always do that line thing. Ive heard that It was accesible thorugh out but |I just want to be sure.

Every character's power can be used repeatedly throughout the game unless otherwise stated (e.g. the Drop for the AE, Rod of Negation for Morsbane). So you could theoretically put your markers on Mimring every turn and use Mimring's fire attack once every turn til the game ends.

The significance of a SPECIAL ATTACK (it will always be printed in all-caps on the card) is that it is never modified. So Mimring's Fire Line SPECIAL ATTACK of 4 is always 4, even if Mimring has height, has a +1attack glyph, and/or has Taelord's enhancing aura.

Mimring's normal attack (range 1) is 4 and it CAN be enhanced by height, Taelord, etc etc. Thus the need to differentiate the SPECIAL ATTACK as range 8.

Special attacks are not limited use. Unlike regular attacks, special attacks cannot be boosted by height advantage or anything else. Additionally some units powers act differently depending whether attacking with a regular or special attack

The game could be broken if you allowed Special Attacks to be modified. Imagine DW8k with Taelord + Height + a Glyph. He'd have a 6 dice attack and could keep attacking with every wound he inflicted. He could wipe out single armies in an entire turn

There is a logic behind the SPECIAL ATTACKS not being modified. These attacks are typically AOE's (area of effects). So for instance Mimring could conceivably attack 8 characters at once (assuming his opponent was brilliant enough to line them up so nicely for Mimring).

So Mimring rolls 4 dice for all of them. However, what if the first two guys are lower than Mimring, the second two are on the same height, and the last 4 have height over Mimring?

Does Mimring modify some but not others? Does he roll separately for each figure? If that's then case, then when Mirming rolls separately for each, then it seems like a weird kind of flame - some parts are really strong (a roll of 4 skulls perhaps) and other parts of hte flame are weak (a roll of zero skulls for instance).

Another great part of ranged Special Attacks . . . they can hit the dreaded Drake. Braxas, Sudema, and Nelfheim are all wonderful new tools for countering the Sargent.

Ive been unsure of this .

Can you use a characters special ability and special attack in the same turn.

Example: Murphy whip 12, then shot gun blast.

Ive always played you can.

And reasoned it with flying characters.

Example: Mimring can fly and then fireline. (special ability / special attack)

I think you're right OP. Because if you can't use them both, typically it will say "Instead of attacking..." like on Braxas' card, right?

Another question: What is Mimring's gender?

By the way, see ya Friday!!!

It is funny that the other dragons are clearly marked as Kings or Queen. But then poor Mimring is just . . . a Beast.

Is that what they call Dragons on Icaria that got neutered?
