Harper's Island

Is anyone else watching this? They advertised it heavily, but I think the ratings have been disappointing considering that they just moved it from Thursday to Saturday night.

For those who don't know about Harper's Island, it is a 13-week mystery series. The setting is an island off the coast of Washington state which was the scene of a series of horrific murders several years ago. A wealthy family is planning a wedding on the island and many of the former residents have returned for the festivities. As soon as they arrive (actually even before they get there) the murders start again, and the body count is going to be very high (8 deaths in 5 episodes, although 1 may be considered an accident instead of murder).

The series isn't fantastic, but I'm enjoying it so far. I'm gotten hooked on the mystery although I have no idea who the killer is. Anyone else involved in this show?

Re: Harper's Island

I caught the first fifteen minutes (played a little "He is from .../She is from ...") and turned it off when I saw that it was simply god-awful tripe ... Sort of a poor man's Ten Little Indians combined with a kiddie-fied version of Saw.

Just because you're offended, it doesn't make you right.

It did improve after the first episode, but its definitely not high art. I enjoy it, but its more of a guilty pleasure.

And I didn't recognize anyone in the cast other than Harry Hamlin (who didn't last very long) and the diner owner from Eureka (one of the groomsmen). I was surprised when I looked at the IMDB cast pages and saw the long lists of credits that most have.

I think there's one guy from Reaper and Jim Beaver who plays Bobby in Supernatural. The guy who plays Uncle Marty looks familiar.

I've just watched the first episode and although I don't think it's anything hugely exciting, I do like the blonde.
