Artemis Fowl-What do you think?

I really like the Artemis Fowl books, by Eoin Colfer. Does anyone else here read them? They are probably my favorite books ever, so I just wanted to know if you guys liked them. Thanks.

I'm curious to know how many people here know how to properly pronounce the author's first name. And yes, I do know how it is pronounced.

I absolutely love these books. I have read all of them way too many times, more than is healthy. I think I 've caught every little error and plot discrepancy in all of them. But overall I love them. They are a great series, and will always have a place on my bookshelf.

I like them. Though, they only require a rather low reading level, which is a drawback to their appeal for me. Time Paradox was my least favorite of the series. To many plot holes. My favorite character is Foaly. He's constantly making me laugh. Who is everyone else's favorite character?

I like the Artemis Fowl books. They're not my favorite, but they're goood.

I like them, I think I'll use Time Paradox(which I haven't read yet) for an LA project.

I love Eoin Colfer's writing. I have only read Artemis Fowl 1 and 2, but I am trying to get my hands on the third. I also really like the Half Moon Investigation which was also written by Colfer. I love crime related books that take place in Ireland and are written for people my age!

I recently got a book report to do, and I could pick any book to do it on, so long as she aproved it. I did the Artic Insident. I loved it so much, and it was easy to write the report. Eoin Colfer is probably my favorite writer right now. (Eat your heart out JK Rowling)

Eoin Colfer is definetly my favorite auther.(yes, I can pronounce his name.) My favorite book is probably the Lost Colony, which, by the way, I just finished reading for the second time about 45 minutes ago. I have the whole series in hardback, and it was sooo worth the money. I have also read the Supernaturalist,(twice) and it was pretty good.

I liked them all very much, except for Time Paradox. It made my head explode, and I usually can get my head around time travel scenarios. The plot holes in that one could hide a barge.

Of all of Colfer's work, the Supernaturalist is probably my least favorite book. I've read it and I can't even recall it. I like the Artemis Fowl series and enjoy reading the novels as a nice distraction on a good weekend. They're an easy enough read.

I haven't read the latest one, though. I'm awaiting that one in paperback, which it may already be, but I haven't been to B&N to check in awhile.

Oh, and is his first name pronounced Own, as in I own this pair of shoes?

Close. It's basically the Irish version of Owen. There are Irish guys that might essentially say it like own, but there would still be a slight hint at an "e" between the "w" and "n". It's one of those things you see spelled and wonder how in the world they get that pronunciation out of that spelling (kind of like the city Dun Laoghaire, pronounced Dun Leery).

I already knew how to pronounce his name, but when I first saw it I thought it was like: A-O-in. lol
