Another Army Help Thread

Well I know that there are a lot of threads out there like this and regret to make another one but I haven't exactly found out what I want to know.

So my army involves the 4th Mass.
1) 2x 4th Mass. (Thats all I have)
2) Raelin (Sotm)

thats what I want for sure in my army but, I would like to keep an all valiant army. So What do You think I should add to the army, to make a decent competitive army with 510 points. I do not have Sir Gilbert. 1x KOW and Sir Denrick. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, what other valiant units do you have and how big an army are you looking for? Sentinels are good, as is Charos and Drake. We need to know a little more before we can actually answer this question in a good way for you.

This is a solid valiant army if you have it:
Charos - 210
4x 4th Mass 280

Like I said, I don't know what you have but I would play that if you have it.

Sorry I have most of the Jandar units plus 1x sentinels. Would you reccomend Sotm Drake or Normal Drake? And this is something that I want answered. My friend stole my Sgt. Drak Sotm fig. but denies it, can I use a rotv drake in its place? Anyway I also have Charos, I just want really something competitive to fill the 510.

How many sets of each unit do you have though? That makes a big difference when building armies. Not trying to be rude or pushy, I just need to know how many squads you have.

Well I only have 2x Mass. So I need more units. But here is something I've been sitting on.

2x Mass.
2x Minions of Utgar (I know this sacrifices the 4th mass. bonus, but I could run in with them tie up enemy then pick the enemy off.)
150 points left not enough for Charos or Taelord, so Maybe Ralein or I might be able to get another squad of Mass off of a friend to use. But How do you think that strategy is?

2x mass
2x minions
2x anubians + Khosumet (could fill in for minions spot)

I actually would do that (since you don't have 2x Sentinels) and put in ROTV Raelin and another squad of 4th (if you can get them from your buddy).

This is actually a strategy that I've wanted to use for a while. The big thing will be making sure your 4th Mass are close enough to Raelin and your Minions die before she does. If that happens, you 4th will always have a defense bonus (Raelin then the Valiant bonus).

I remember reading this that if the minions die and they don't count to the valiant bonus anymore? If thats true, that is a good strategy, should I use the minions or the anuvians with the possible 11 attack?

Stick with the minions. The Anubians are too D20 reliant and aren't as competitive as Minions. That said, I love the wolves but they just depend to much on that darned D20 to be good.

Stick with:
2x Minions - 220
3x 4th Mass - 210
ROTV Raelin - 80

Troubleman you know my army uses two 4th mass so you ar not getting it from me.
Just for you reference her is my army you would be facing.

Its fine that a new thread is made (though my opinion on the new threads is not very valuable), but I think many would agree that such vague names only cause clutter. Also you cannot use the search function to find an Elf army if its title is "How's this".

A. If you find an existing thread read some of it to see if it changes your army.

2. If there is no existing thread make one with a descriptive and correctly spelled title.

That is a very long way of saying, "Please be descriptive and try to reduce clutter."

I think this applies to your thread. I tried to type it out nicely, and I'd like it to keep that tone as you read it; my intention with this post was to A: Reduce the amount of threads with the same armies and B: Eliminate mystery thread titles, but not to flame people.

EDIT: The quote is from a totally different thread, and posted in response to a new member (thus my brief explanation of the books).
