Okay chumps. Listen and listen good. Many of us enjoy Heroscape. But, there are many of us who, though we enjoy Heroscape can't afford to continue to keep on purchasing the business. So, I'm thinking of compiling a list of proxies from the master set that would help a little more than trying to purchase these darned expensive booster packs.

Krav Maga Agents have now become the Nakita Agents.
You can gather where the Tagawa Samurai are going to come from
I get the feeling that Agent Carr can carry the flag for Vydar,
And Grimnak can tote it for Utgar
With a subtle repaint, and a trim, Raelin could carry the flag for Jandar.
And trim half his bow off, and Syvarris becomes an elven flag bearer.


If you can think of anything else from the MS that could be used to fill in the gaps of those of us who are stricken with delicious poverty, let me know here!

Legos can become sacred band. Same with Marcus Gallus Decimus can become parmenio.

Good idea.

The viking warriors and heroes can stand in for pretty much any historical melee unit - greeks, romans, knights, denrick, macdirks, alastair, gladiators, even the WoA if you squint hard.

Raelin could be any of the kyrie heroes.

Marro could be orcs.

Grimnak can be Tornak.

Mimring could be Braxas, Nilfheim, or Charos.

DW9K could be DW8K or Q9.

The Zettians can be X17, DW7K, gladiatrons, or blastatrons (depending on how many MS you have).

By the way, is there somewhere to get images of the army cards for all of the units to print out?

I'm designing a hole alternative version to the master set figures. As far as now I have the following for playtesting.

AE -> The Xth of infantery, no dropping, camouflage added.
Izumi -> tawaga or the like
Krav maga -> Nakita or Rookies + agent Bale
Marros -> Elite blood marros, marro warlord bonding, squad combined attack
Sg Drake -> instead of other habilities it has a hook that can bring people to his side.
Raelin -> Kelda or Taelin
Syvarris -> Elf hero with deadly shot
vikings -> Utgar vikings
finn or thorgrim -> valguard
mimring -> one of the other dragons

most of the invented troops have new stats and costs.

it's too expensive to ship heroscape here. It actually dobles its price :S

I do believe there was a Bizzaro heroscape project a while back that you might want to look into.... If only I could find out where it went.

Of course, I think it would be awesome if you made your conversion too, its just nice to see those that went before you

I thought the Bizzaro HS was ok, but I didn't like the "opposite personality" feature of it. Sure, a lot of good ideas came out, but freeform works better for me.

You people are coming up with some good ideas. I like where your heads are at. Good work. Whoever comes up with some more stuff, let me know. I'll find uses for those MS figures yet! (seriously, not interested right now in new customs. Just trying to get caught up).

I use proxies all the time, both for units I don't own yet, and for commons I don't have enough of. I used just about everybody swinging a sword for an army completely composed of Roman Legionnaries the other day. I'm not a very picky player, and for all the time that HS has been out, I've played using the stats from the official site, or here, and other figs that I have lying around in my junk.
