Reinforcements Arrive WORK PRINT

Until we have the official version with Heroscape Sculpts and Army Cards, I'm going to cobble together my own version of the first Marvel expansion, using the best looking sculpts of each character from the WizKids HeroClix Collectible miniatures collection and the best of the custom created Army Cards from the A-Z of Custom Created Superheroes List. For now, I'm reserving my opinion on which ones are the 'BEST' of either the Army Cards or the sculpts; I'm not trying to be secretive, I just need more time to think about it. For now, I figure this thread can be a repository for info on all of the available miniatures and custom Army Cards one would need to make their own version of Reinforcements Arrive!

For anyone who still hasn't seen it, here is an image of the Prototype set:

[Has anyone actually seen this in person? At which event / convention?]

ARMY CARDS - Here are all of the custom created Army Cards for each character in the expansion that I'm aware of, straight from the 'A-Z' list:

Beast (Dr. Henry "Hank" Mccoy) Marvel: Blue Fur: (Allskulls) (GreyOwl) (Prospect) (Whitestuff)

Black Panther (T'challa) Marvel: (GreyOwl) (Hi1hi1hi1hi1) (Whitestuff)

Bullseye (Benjamin Pondexter) Marvel: (GreyOwl) (Hi1hi1hi1hi1) (Prospect) (Troll Warrior) (Whitestuff)

Doctor Octopus (Otto Octavius) Marvel: (GreyOwl) (Hi1hi1hi1hi1) (Prospect) (Whitestuff)

Human Torch (Johnathan "Johnny" Spencer Storm) Marvel: (GreyOwl) (hi1hi1hi1hi1) (hi1hi1hi1hi1) (Lefton4ya) (Prospect) (Whitestuff)

Invisible Woman (Susan "Sue" Storm-Richards), Marvel: (GreyOwl) (hi1hi1hi1hi1) (Prospect) (whitestuff)

Punisher (Francis David Castiglione; AKA Frank Castle) Marvel: (GreyOwl) (Prospect) (whitestuff)

Sandman (William Baker) Marvel: (GreyOwl) (hi1hi1hi1hi1) (Prospect) (whitestuff)

Super Skrull (Criti Noll) Marvel: (GreyOwl)
Super Skrull (Kl'rt) Marvel (GreyOwl) (whitestuff)
Super Skrull (Rl_nnd) Marvel: (GreyOwl)
Super Skrull (X_iv) Marvel: (GreyOwl)

The Thing (Benjamin "Ben" Grim) Marvel: (Firemaster) (GreyOwl) (hi1hi1hi1hi1) (Prospect) (whitestuff)

Some of the best-looking HEROCLIX... more details to coming soon!

BEAST:

This version looks amazing, but it seems hard to find.
This less-cool looking version is more common:

Of course, being a big Grant Morrison fan, I went with the New X-Men look:

Black Panther:

Bullseye:

Doc Ock:

Suggested by CriesJuggernaut:

Human Torch:
Two very nice choices... a more traditional one:

And a super-cool translucent flying version:

Invisible Woman:

The Punisher:
Two nice, relatively cheap sculpts exist for him, one is 'actiony':

The other is more stoic:

Sandman:

Super Skrull:
This guy's a bit tough, because the two 'classic' sculpts that exist for him are a bit on the expensive side.
The MORE expensive of the two looks OK:

But I prefer the 'not-quite-as-expensive' sculpt:

There are also other 'Super Skrulls' available from the HeroClix line, and any one of them would make a fine substitute.

The Thing:

Above is the best sculpt of The Thing in my opinion, and easy to procure,
but this 'classic' Thing sculpt has a lot of charm:

Suggested by CriesJuggernaut:

Please note that I don't pretend to know anything about this expansion that isn't already out there on these boards... probably even less! As far as I know, there is NO official information about this set other than the picture of the prototype set at the top of the page and a release date of 'COMING SOON'. Until we hear more, the set in that photo can basically be considered a 'one-of-a-kind prototype' of the miniatures. No official stats have been released that I am aware of, but if anything does get revealed, I will update that info in this first post.

It will be interesting to see IF /WHEN the real deal gets released, how close the custom work of this community came to the finished product.

I started doing something similar, that is, I started making my own Wave 1
I used " CliX" figs and did a Fantastic 4 ( not 3) and added Bullseye..thats as far as I got. Mine aren't in the A-Z unfortuneately but they are under Monks Customs 2 , or something. Good Luck !

I also hope that we never have to use them, but I'm keeping them in the cellar just in case.

I suppose the broader point of this whole thing is to hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst.

More importantly, I want everyone here [ESPECIALLY those who are losing their minds waiting for more MarvelScape] to know that there are a TON of really nicely sculpted HeroClix [and other] figures out there, plus literally HUNDREDS of well made custom Army Cards here on this board that are ready to add to your Heroscape game with just a little bit of effort. It's pretty amazing, actually!

Re: Reinforcements Arrive WORK PRINT

Yeah, we allready have enough custom cards. It would be nice if they even only released the sculpts.

Without dark, there is no light.
Without bad HScape figs, there are no good ones.
Dund is important, therefore

See, I'm the opposite. If WotC decides NOT to release this set, I hope they AT LEAST reveal the official stats they had cooked up here on Heroscapers... we have a plethora of great to decent sculpts of all 10 figures. As good as the custom Army Cards are, it would be nice to see what they had in store for us.

I agree. As much as I'd like the figures, the official stats is what I'm most wanting.

Thanks a lot for this list. I keep up hope that one day we'll get Wave 1 of Marvelscape. Until then hopefully this will help me raise my spirits.

On another note, there's a couple more sculpts I'd like to add. I'm a big fan of the Ultimate line of Marvel so that may be the reason for me liking this Doc Ock sculpt:

I also love this sculpt of the Thing:

The first time I saw it I couldn't help but laugh.

EDIT: Sorry for the smaller pics. Getting back into the whole message board thing after a long hiatus.

Re: Reinforcements Arrive WORK PRINT

To CriesJuggernaut: Thanks for the excellent suggestions. I have added them to the list at the top of the page. That Doc Ock is way better looking than the 'classic' style sculpt, yet is still close enough to what everyone thinks of when you say Doc Ock! Yay Ultimates!

And that Thing is just awesome. Is that a Hot Dog vendor's street cart? I need that mini, which series is it from?

That is a hot dog vendor street cart. It's from the Fantastic Four Starter Set. It comes with Dr. Doom, 2 doombots and the whole Fantastic Four. The other sculpts are nice looking too. You can find them on the Marvel Heroclix site in the figure gallery.

What about them?

The only available Marvel Heroscape figures are the 10 that came with the Marvel:The Conflict Begins set. The discussion in this thread is about the previously announced, but as yet unreleased* expansion set Reinforcements Arrive.

Since those figures, and their accompanying stats, have not been released, suggestions for figures from other games that can be used are being discussed along with non-official stats.

*And, sadly, this set may never be released.

Re: Reinforcements Arrive WORK PRINT

Grey owls are really nice. My version of all can be found at http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/p...junkiedesigns/
I also have a new rectangle card design there I would like everyone to give feedback on. It fits a table better, and still keeps the heroscape feel. I can make blank templates for all the generals if wanted, or send the source file and instructions on how to create your own templates. Thanks for any feedback.
