Because her abilities are based on wounding and destroying unique heroes I was thinking of dropping her price but on the other hand, if she does destroy a unique hero she has the potential for a mass healing.

Thoughts on cost?
I like the idea with the Autumnblade power, but shouldn't it specify what happens if you roll 1-4?

The other is Tenzen, a Ninja leader...

I made him a Shinobi, which is the same as ninja, just to avoid any looping with his clan leader ability.
The fig is an Isamu repaint with a sword from an extra Izumi.

I was thinking of dropping his attack to 2 because of the auto skull, but on the other hand, you have to roll at least one skull to get the auto skull so 3 attack isn't as bad as it would be with an automatic auto skull.

Any thoughts?
This guy is great. My dilemma would be whether to use his or two other ninjas?

Re: Lamaclown's Customs- New: Druid and Ninja Leader 8/18

I got a comment!

I am glad you like Tenzen. I haven't tried him out yet (SoV playtesting keeps me pretty busy) but I am eager to see how he does.

With the Autumnblade ability I went back and forth on including the "1-4" stipulation.

Room was getting pretty tight on her card so I did some searching and found that there are several official abilities using the d20 that drop that part off (Toxic Skin/ Kee-Mo-Shi; Paralyzing Stare/Me-Burq-Sa; Net Trip/Retiarius; Javelin/MotH, to name a few) so I figured I was safe with such a precedent set.

Granted, the ones I found that drop that clause don't have multiple outcome possibilities like Autumnblade does but I thought I could get away with it due to the fact that there is a precedent set.

So, basically, it was a matter of space really, so even though there is a type of precedent for it, if it will make the card seem more official I am willing to try to fit it on there; there is room for it.

After typing all that, I think I will go with your suggestion. It looks better with it on there and bulleted with all that official-ly goodness...

Thanks for the input Super Bogue!

That is the difference. The ones with multiple possible outcomes always cover the entire die in the explanation.

That said, I have always referred to that die as the "d20" on my custom cards instead of "20-sided die" because it takes up SO much less room and I still know exactly what I'm talking about, so I am completely on-board with you doing whatever the hell you want.

I like the idea behind Life Flow. It's a simple enough concept. It's too bad there isn't a way of wording it that doesn't take up so much space on the card, but it's a good power.

Tenzen looks like a great character, by the way. I have toyed with the idea of a ninja custom to tie the faction together. The reason I've never bothered is that the ninja don't make a cool-looking army. Shiori doesn't look cool, Kumiko and Moriko barely look cool. But they all have interesting powers, so a ninja master is a great idea.

I'd sooner make a custom that ties the Lawmen (/Sniper ) together, but I haven't been able to find an affordable figure for an outlaw posse for Utgar.

I haven't looked through everything, but the stuff I've seen looks great, and I may have to borrow the MADNESS ability. About that, though- is it meant to affect friendlies, opponents, or both? I'm guessing both, because the card doesn't say, but any of the above would be interesting. If it only affected friendlies, he'd never be worth it, so I'm thinking it's either both or its meant to be limited to opponents. Just hoping for a little clarification. That's the cleanest way I've seen of inducing a figure to attack its own.

Very nice.

That is what I figured. Can't blame a guy for trying though

I hardly ever use the ninja for that reason but I like themed armies and thought I would give the ninjas a shot.

Great idea. My friends and I have tossed that idea around and figured if we ever do we are going to house-rule Deadeye Dan as a lawman.

It is meant to affect both. The original version affected only an opponent's figs but after some input from others, I changed it to any figures- even your own. It definitely makes OM placement very important, especially in the beginning of the game (as if it wasn't important enough already).

OK, haven't made anything totally outside the bos for a while and saw this guy and my weird mind kicked in.

For casual play and laughter...

He goes well with an older custom of mine...

They are both guaranteed to help you have a great time enjoying your friends laughter over a casual game of 'scape.

Any thoughts?

Pretty funny, and I love the 'Carpet-bagger' sculpt (what is the official names of the sculpts, anyways?). Of course, the adult version subs in Jack Daniels for Coca-Cola...

Those are absolutley hilarious Lamaclown. I'd be in trouble on the peach pit trap. I don't like peaches though I suppose I could use a plum. But I can only get them at certain times of the year here. Great job

Why do I have the feeling that your Heroscape tiles are covered in a thick layer of sticky Coke? I know mine definitely would be. They must make for some funny games.

Sorry I haven't responded before now.

The Total Fruitcake is King Kuranes #21 and Harold T. Guzzler is the Snake Oil Salesman #37. Both are from the Freakshow set of Horrorclix and can be had for .35 or less at MiniatureMarket

Re: Lamaclown's Customs-New:Aquilla Kyrie Squad 8/31 (last p

There are quite a few heroclix figs that would make for excellent customs. A lot of them aren't used because they would be "recognizable" as comic book heroes.

I decided to not let that stop me from getting super cheap figs (as in $0.15 per fig for some) to make cool customs with.

They have to meet a couple criteria:
1. They have to be $1.25 or less per fig
2. They can't be too "superhero" looking (capes and spandex, ridiculous looking head gear, etc.)
3. They can't be so iconic that a simple paint job can't conceal their true identity (so no Superman, Batman, Spiderman etc.) .

I have wanted an Aquilla kyrie squad for some time (who hasn't). I always thought Hawkman fit the bill perfectly. So, a little paint job and voila, kyrie squad...

I have thought about changing Swooping Dive to get rid of the d20 since no other kyrie squad uses a d20 ability. Maybe something like...
Quote:
SWOOPING DIVE
If a Raptor of Aquilla moves adjacent to an opponent's figure that it was not adjacent to at the beginning of its turn, and one or more Raptors of Aquilla you control are adjacent to that same opponent's figure, before attacking with the Raptor of Aquilla, you may roll 1 attack die. If you roll a skull, the opponent's figure receives one wound.
Also, I wasn't sure if 120 is too high. My rationale was that with the d20 Swooping Dive giving a 25% for a squaddie insta kill (it should be 16 or higher, not 15) a squad of Raptors could take out up to six low defense squaddies in one turn.

The revised Swooping Dive isn't as effective. Even though you go from a 25% chance of an insta squaddie kill to a 50% chance, it won't be as versatile against multiple figs if they are not all clumped together. With the d20 ability, the squaddies could be spread out and still get decimated.

Any thoughts?

The revised wording is more confusing. I'd go with the d20. I see no reason not to break the pattern. It's not like there are a hundred kyrie squads that conform to it. And I see no reason they need to be 120 pts. The usual 110 should work fine. What you call a "25% chance for an insta-kill" is actually, first of all, a 1 in 4 chance, meaning on any given turn, there's a decent chance of not getting it at all. In order to position them for it more often, you might have to put the Raptors in more danger. And the "insta-kill" only kills squaddies. It's just one wound, even when you manage to roll for it. I say 110 pts.

Hawkman was a good choice. Like you said, more iconic figures would be weird, but the repainted Hawkman looks like a HS figure to me, and if they're that cheap, who can say no? Nicely done.

I'm curious to know if you have a figure for a Raptor hero.
