Diversing figures

Hey guys I have a question. My brother always uses the same guys and I don't know how to get him to change. It would be a lot more interesting if he did and I would have a lot more fun to. Does anyone have an idea on how to get him to change?

I agree with Onacara, especially #3. Make a rule that he cannot use the same ones over and over. If that fails...just kick him in the nads.

I've got two things that could help. The first is random drafting. I'm not sure of the rules off the top of my head but I can find them and point you to them.

The second is find a way to just completely tear your brother's favorite units apart. Once you have a successful counter to his favorite units he will change to something else.

Those are just off the top of my head. Hope they help.

I would go for option #1
If that doesn't help, go for option #4

You could also tell us what figures he is using and what other figures you have available. I'm sure we can find a handful of counter-drafts, to make him change his mind.

Or build a great map on which his favorite team doesn't function particularly well. Use snow to slow him down, or trees to block LoS, etc., so that he has to diversify if he wants to play a good game.

Seriously, I, also, recommend countering his army. (If all else fails, of course.)

My girlfriend likes to draft the same units over and over so I usually change the points up on her.

If your brother likes high-point figures (Q9, Braxas) play lower point games where such units are tough to fit in an army.

Or else play an even higher point game where he is forced to add units he doesn't always use. He may end up finding out he likes some of those units even more.

He always uses the Krav, Venom, and Dr. Doom. So I have to counter them and the game doesn't get that interesting. When I don't counter he beats the crap out of me.

What sets do you have?

You could always take Cyprien against those guys. On a decent d20 Chilling Touch roll you can do some significant damage to his army.

Or take surfer and use the Hyper Speed manuever against the Krav. Move adjacent to one normally, kill one of them, then Hyper Speed away.

Or even Sgt Drake with his Thorian Speed would be a decent counter to those guys.

But perhaps even better, suggest doing a draft, and take one of those 3 units away from him and use it in your army.

Nakitas with smoke screen would be good too...
