Your opinion on games

Well, since the fall of Mage Knight I've been looking for pne or two new miniatures games to play, (besides StarWars and Heroscape) and I wanted to know what games you like.

Try Battlefied Evolution by Mongoose. It's compatible, for the most part, with Starship Troopers (sci-fi bug hunting goodness), Apocalypse Z (zombie horror), and World at War (WWII).

That or Doom: the boardgame.

Depends on what floats your boat. Sci-fi/fanatsy/horror, etc.

Well before I give you my picks, tell us what you like. Do you like to make your own? Do you like to paint? Do you want them to come prepainted and assembled? Is there a genre you prefer?

Well thanks for the opinions, and Tiberius, I didn't give a description of what I liked because I wanted to know what you guys like. I'm willing to try any game. And I know someone of the same name on the midway boards. If you are the same person, it's me, dhdehhy.

No, sorry, it is probably a common name to any Trekkie. I hang out at Privateer Press boards, the Menagerie, Circle of Swords and here. Though aside from heroscape, my favorite miniature games are Warmachine, Dreamblade, and Battletech.

Warmachine and battletech both require that you assemble and paint your mini's, Warmachine more than battletech, but if you enjoy that part of the hobby, you will not be dissappointed by the games, as privateer press puts out some really nice stuff for Warmachine/Hordes.

Dreamblade is discontinued from wizards of the coast but I loved the flavor and the game play. It was chess meets magic the gathering and was alot of fun.

Like 'dillo, I also like Battlefield Evolution: World at War, a WWII minis game that's easy to get into. Gotta paint up your own minis, though. AT-43 is pretty cool and is prepainted, a big plus if you're not into the hobby aspect. Battlelore is also fun and sort of a boardgame/minis game hybrid.

I'm in love Elfball, Battletech, and looking to try Pulp City.

None of these are collectible games, they are old skool white metal table top games. IE Superior.

I also enjoy Descent, eventhough its not technically a minis game it uses a lot of them.

I'd have to second checking out Monsterpocalpse, it has a small game board and seems to have a structured game play that may appeal to you if you liked Dreamblade. They really aren't much alike but just offer a small setup to quick start games.

Obviously if you are a 'Clix player you could check out may of the Hero/Horror/Action/MechWarrior/etc clix games out there. I'm personally not a fan of the games but do love some of the figure sculpts they have made. Phoenix/Dark Phoenix is still one of the most amazing figures I've ever seen.

AT-43 is pretty solid and has some great pre-painted stuff although they are more expensive than Heroscape, D&D Minis, Clix, etc. Solid and simple rules for the most part as well.

I took can recommend Dreamblade although it is not a skirmish miniatures game. I only play that and Heroscape so I can't suggest any other minis games. I am keeping my eye on Monsterpocalypse. Just wish it wasn't collectible.
