Good Luck Big Brown!
The Belmont Stakes are this evening. (Horse racing for anyone who doesn't follow it.)
If Big Brown can pull it off he'll be the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years! Should be exciting.

Our family made plans to be at Belmont today to see this 30 year dry spell finally end. But, as you know if you've been watching the coverage of the race, it's hot. 93 degrees. No way we'd take our 8 and 12 year old children to stand around in this heat all day just to see the race. So we are home watching it on High Definition TV. Much cooler. Still, what the heart wants is one thing and what the head says is another. Wish I was there.

I was wondering if you'd be going, but kids, crowds, and that kind of heat sure aren't fun. Oh well, it's almost Mint Julep time!

The Fact I know the owners of the horse and ~1/2(I think) the prize money was going to charity makes me all the more dissapointed.

We were afraid the heat would be a factor today. I don't know what the vet report will be but I bet the high temperature played a factor. That and the non-use of steroids issue. Still, many disappointed people tonight. Many of us wanted to see a triple crown winner again.

 I wonder why they decided to stop the steroids. One would think that they wouldn't change anything before a big race.  Onacara, you are a horrible person.

Well the good news is my father one 50 bucks because of the Pool he was in for the horses.
