Sir Hawthorne vs Sir Christopher
Ok, does anyone know why Sir Christopher's name was changed to Sir Hawthorne?
In the original bio for Sir Denrick it referenced Sir Christopher as the knight who betrayed him, but now the bio has Sir Hawthorne -- and of course the GenCon figure is Sir Hawthorne. I have a custom Sir Christopher and set of Black Knights that I made this past spring (used an extra set of Knights of Weston -- the one with the war hammer became Sir Christopher and the other 3 became Black Knights). The black knights are a unique squad with warlord bonding (Sir Christopher is a warlord) and also have a "knights fallen spirit" where the attack number is increased by 1 for each fallen knight (e.g., if two knights have been "killed", the last remaining gets 2 extra attack dice). Sir Christopher has "warhammer swing" attack effects all adjacent figures (one less attack dice than normal attack) and also knight attack aura - adds one attack to adjacent friendly knights. At some point I will get around to posting the customs on this site. |

Apparently, it's related to Grungebob somehow.
But those who know HOW it's related have yet to enlighten those who don't and keep going around sharing this inside joke on all the threads related to Hawthorne. So until they DO share the reason that Hawthorne = Grungebob, it's all just a random rumor that has no basis in fact whatsoever. |

This is no secret. They changed the bio so that the exclusive Sir Hawthorne would match the Denrick bio.

Were they in a meeting and decided -- hey lets have the exclusive this year be Sir Denrick's enemy. Yeah, good idea -- anyone remember what his name was? Sir somethinger other. Oh, just use Sir Hawthorne. I've got one of those hawthorne trees in my back yard and the thorny devil is a pain. Beside's no one reads the bios, so no one will notice we used a different name. |
