Character Battle- Poll 19: Raknar's Vision

This is going to be a good one. There's a lot of good characters here. Major Q9 is arguably one of the best in the game, Braxas is a favorite among the dragons, and Jotun is just cool.

This time, my vote goes to Jotun for cool sculpt and ability factor. He's intimidating, and the throw is just fun.

1. Nilfheim: the coolest dragon in more ways than one. Looks (until Zelrig), abilities, and competitiveness.
2. Theracus: Always a favorite "filler." He gets your guys where they need to go no questions asked, and can even put up a little bit of a fight at the end.
3. Jotun: If you've ever Thrown any figures, you know he's fun.
4. Braxas: Couldn't decide between her and Jotun. She's good, but I went with the fling machine. (Also. You. Spelled. Her. Name. Wrong. On. The. Poll. )
5. Major Q9: No comment.

1. Theracus - I'm probably the only one who will vote this way. Honestly, I LOVE Theracus. He's cool looking, for one - birse/hord with super wings. And like I said last time... I really, really like ferries, and as a cheap, flying one, I really, really like Theracus.
2. Braxas - You know how I said I needed Su-Bak-Na because he was bigger than Grimnak? Well, I still need Braxas, because she's bigger than Su-Bak-Na! A giant, slimy, black, snake-like dragon... with poison breath. My favorite of the Icarian bunch.
3. Jotun - Big? Check. Tough? Check. Able to toss people onto a castle? Double check. Though too expensive to use regularly, Jotun is a TON of fun to use, and often brings back his points, directly or indirectly.
4. Nilfheim - I don't see what's so cool about him. In my expirience, he's not that powerful, his attack isn't particularly unique, and he's really quite boring looking. But I do love ice and such, so...
5. Major Q9 - Meh. He's overused. I mean, he's somewhat unique, but the fact my usual "run up and hit hard" strategy doesn't work against him has made him a thorn in my side.

I have a feeling that Major Q9 will take the cake here for his overall superiority in competitive play, and his popularity here at HSers forums. However, my favorite goes to Nilfheim. Nilfheim has an incredible sculpt, he has a great squad killer ability, even better than Q9's in some cases, and his high attack and above average life points make him an excellent choice in any army. I use him in the army I have been working with recently, but he has been one of my favorites from the start.

My vote will be for Nilf, but I believe from most to least votes, this will be the following order:

1 - Major Q9
2 - Nilfheim
3 - Jotun
4 - Braxas
5 - Theracus

Although I don't use him very often, my vote goes to Jotun. No one looks more intimidating on the battlefield.

I voted Nilf. That's a great balance between visual coolness coupled with in-game success and power... without being cheap and uncool like Major Q9... who will not win, I'm fairly certain.

I love Q9, but Nelfheim will rule. He's just awesome. Period.

1) Major Q9
If you played the game before RV, you knew the hopelessness of surviving as a unique hero against the hordes of commons. SquadScape was the rage until we got Q9. Nowadays I really hate to see the Major on the field - especially with Raelin and/or 'Reavers. But no single figure provided both a solution to the horde power and troublesome potency in and of itself.
To see those stats and abilities for the first time and realize you'd have a fist full of 9 dice to parcel out in various amounts. Whoah, that was ultra-cool.
Then when scapers started getting the actual figure in hand and reporting back to HQ -
"Whoah, what's this? He's got the general's symbols on his shoulder pads to denote who he's killed?!?"
"Look at those shoulder pads!"
"He's got a facial tattoo paintjob!"
I can't stand the guy, but he gets my vote as the greatest RV unit.
It should be everyone's duty to vote for no one else but Major Q9.

2) Braxas Spewing acid death. Jeez, can it be this cool to take out commons with such ease? Best-looking dragon so far.
3) Theracus This little mount is killer for 40 points. It was Theracus that made me realize the Krav could be reached on high and dealt with if only we had fast, flying melee units. (Hello, Cyprien!)
It's a fun combo to haul one of the Viking bros. with Theracus - I recommend Finn!
4) Nilfheim He's potent, but doesn't cut if for me. I like him, but he's got that Jandar curse - if it isn't slow movement or some other detrimental stat aspect, it's that he's incredibly difficult to place on tight maps.
5) Jotun poor Jotun. The most expensive unit in the game seems to die way too quickly to justify his points.
The Throw is the greatest thing, though.
