new omnicron leader?

hey. i was wondering if anybody knows any info about the upcoming omnicron guy. they have stuff out about almost all the other guys in aquillo's alliance but him (and the marro/bug)

Nope, no info on him yet. You can bet it'll be all over the place when there is, though.

We know he fights for Jandar, and the back of the box says he has Deadly Shot, in a way that makes it sound likely to me they're talking about the actual power, not just good-marksmanship fluff. Stats and cost are unknown, as is whether he has any mechanical relationship with the Omnicrons or just looks like them.

I still want him to give Omnicron Targeting to any Snipers within so many spaces. Perfect way to recycle an ability.

If he does link up with the Omnicrons, I would expect something d6-based, either getting more dice, giving them more dice, or re-rolling dice. Jandar leadership almost always involves d6 enhancement.

Thanks for mentioning that, rdhight, I was not aware of that trend. Due to the similarities already known, I would expect him to work with the snipers pretty closely, and the trait the snipers need boosted the most is Attack. An extra Attack die sounds good, but it might be overpowered when stacked with things such as height, Taelord, glyphs, etc. Maybe add just one skull to the attack roll (like Tough for attack)? It adds a bonus without overpowering too much.

I think +1 die would be less powerful than an auto skull for those guys. Or am I missing what you are saying Nooblar?

Maybe they're pretty equal, and maybe I'm talking out my rear, but at this late hour it seemed to me that giving a 1-skull bonus was less powerful than a potential 2-skull bonus (Deadly Shot).

Then with your reply I realize I'm talking about Attack instead of Defense so auto-skulls will have a bigger impact on the game than auto-shields. I'm perfectly happy being wrong, too--especially since we probably won't see the real stats on this guy for a long while!

From what I've read about him I think his name is going to be Zetacron. He looks pretty sweet from what little screen shots I've seen.
