Are these armies unbalanced?

I just finished playing a 400 point game against my dad, and he had me create the two armies, and then we chose who would use which randomly. Here are the armies:


My Dad's Army:
SotM Drake
Q10
Deathreavers x2


My Army:
Cyprien
Marcu
Isamu
Ornak
Heavy Gruts
Marro Warriors

After I won the game, my dad complained that my army was way better than his. I told him I'd post a thread on here to get other people's opinions. So, what do you think?

I would say your army works better together. Ornak alone works with pretty much everyone. A lucky roll with Cyprien can easily kill Drake, and he bypasses the rats easily enough. Q10 I think is garbage personally but Q10 should be able to do alright against your army. Drake is pretty good but as I said could get killed by Cyprien. Your army works together much more than his. His army has good characters, but doesn't really have any synergy besides the rats covering for Q10 (which is almost void due to Cyprien)

I wouldn't say that it is terribly matched. I'd say that your army should win almost every time if used correctly. But it's not grossly better or anything.

I don't feel that either army had a significant advantage over the other. As a matter of fact, I feel that your army was at a disadvantage. If Cyprien dies early into the game, then there goes a huge part of your army, although it may only seem like 150 points. Once Cyprien is gone, Ornak only has control of Isamu / Marcu, and that doesn't accomplish a whole lot. Also, the Heavy Gruts are kind of useless without bonding, but the Marro Warriors are a good squad to have.

The only advantage I can see your army having, is that if Cyprien quickly took down Drake, then I can see your army slowly picking off Q10 and the deathreavers, however, just as easily as that may happen, it could also happen to your army if Cyprien dies.

Also, neither had multiples of common squads as an attacking force(deathreavers just for tieing up your opponents), and there was no Q9, Raelin, Stingers x2, Marcu army being played.I feel that these armies were pretty balanced, and neither had a significant advantage over the other in any way.

I can't prove that they're objectively unbalanced, but given a choice between those two, I would have gone with the Q10 army in a heartbeat. Cyprien has only one figure he can Chill Touch, so that slows his killing and healing down pretty effectively. Your dad's army has more range. Drake and Q10 have excellent chances to direct their strong attacks against fairly expensive heroes. I think you won with the underdog.

In that case, that would put your army a bit ahead of your dad's army.. but not by a whole lot.
Also, bonding with Ornak really doesn't do a whole lot unless you have a lot of orcs. Ornak's main function is to mobilize Utgar Heroes, however that requires using Order Marker 1 on him, and more than 1 strong Utgar Hero, not Marcu or Isamu =P .

Marcu actually isn't that bad when using Red Flag of Fury, because then you don't have to roll for eternal hatred. But anyways, in my opinion, if it's only a slight advantage, then it's still a pretty blanced game (and we were using a BoV map too). Besides, even if this army did have an advantage, I gave my dad the option of choosing his army, but he wanted to do it randomly...
