My '77 'Vette Project- Before pictures now added!

Quote:
About a year ago, everytime I was on the road to go to Bowling Green we would always see this white '77 Corvette for sale on the road

I would always joke to my Dad, "Dude we need to buy this for me before it's gone"

However, after a few months the car was not there on the way to Bowling Green, and I was dissipointed because I was hoping to get a job soon and saving up so I could buy it

I didn't expect it to happen, but I can dream anyways.

I would say to him, "Man, we should have bought that 'Vette'"

And he would say back "Who said I didn't"

I just figured he was kidding because he does that a lot.

So after a few months, I completly forgot about the 'Vette when my Dad says to me yesterday

"When I restore that Corvette, and I believe that you are ready to drive it (no crashing the 'Vette) that car is yours

I can't believe my luck (if only it applied to my die rolling)
Well, you wanted before and after pics so I finaly got them. It's not the true before because my dad already removed the seats and took them back to the Corvette plant (Second house is in Bowling Green and the plant is about 30 min away) and did something else I'm not too happy about but...

Here you go

The Vette'

The Interior

The Hood

Under the hood...

Of my Dad's Blazer

Serously, he took the Vette motor and put it in his Blazer, then pretty much blew it up

The new Motor

My dad said this is a 500 horsepower racing engine with something like 382 cylinders. If I can learn anything else about it I'll be sure to let you know.

The other parts

Unfortunately, my Dad and I can hardly ever finish a project we start on so you might be waiting a long time for the after pictures

Lucky. I have been hoping to save up for a car for a while. It's cool that your dad got you such a nice one. Show us pics when it's restored.

Very nice! Although, I have always hated Corvettes for their lack of interior vehicle comfort. It seems all of the design has always centered on cool body shape without any consideration for the interior except for the most basic of necessities.

... And, as you father stated ... "No crashing the 'Vette"! The fiberglass body design of Corvettes does not afford much protection!

Just because you're offended, it doesn't make you right.

Oh, and when (if) it ever has to be put on a lift (like in a shop), make sure they open everything up (both doors, hood and hatch) or else you can say "bye bye body."

Forget the pics of it when it's finished, can we see pics of it before it's started?

I might not be able to get the before pictures, but I will be sure to get the after pics

It looks a lot like this but white

He said that the car was in perfect running condition*, but the interior is ruined, which he is reinovating

I'll call him and ask him if he could take some pictures and send them to me

(for those who might be confused, parents are divorced, dad lives in Bowling Green, Ky where I live in TN

He also works in Fort Knox (military, army) so we are seperated a lot- especialy when he is deployed (been to Iraq twice, and recently got back from Georga, should be sent to Michigan soon also)

* to me and my Dad perfect is never good enough- any car can always go faster

To anyone who might be interested we also have a mostly Volkswagen Beetle parts that hasn't run in years that we are also trying to get running

And we have a ruined Beetle upside down in the forest next to the barn (we rednecks) need to get some pictures of both of these too
