OK, so it's confession time--gosh we're lucky to have a rev around here

My favorite rooky errors (that continued well into at least my second year of play)

- Height bonuses for special attacks.
- Allowing engaged figures with range to target other figures.

It took the deathreavers to make me realize the second error.

Can I get an AMEN, Revdyer

(Yea, I know, your presbeterian right? No confessions? Just play along my man.)
PS I'm a ponce.

His ability made us question our wounding mechanics.

It's when my Juton threw my girl's Crixus. I rolled 11 for the wounds and she put 1 wound marker on the card and I proceeded arguing with her.

me: You didn't roll a shield--heck you're not even allowed to roll for defense for that! 2 wounds!
her: Then when will be a good time that this panty-boy's ability be put to use?

Wadaya mean? You can, as long as there's clear LOS. Right?

Oh yeah, I sang that song out of tune several times m'self before I wised up.

And I just remembered this one: Tor-Kul-Na — or "Gigantor", as he's known to my kids — was beating on the fortress door. I had Drake The Elder high inside the castle above him on a platform, on a hex I thought was adjacent (it would have been if not for the height). I kept "firing" down on poor Gigantor's head while he could do nothing to me in return. I think it took me a while to realize that Drake does not have a gun. You'd think RANGE 1 and a big-arse sword would have been a fat, juicy clue.

Oh, and I need to amend my earlier "" to " I'm a ponce."

While I've never made the mistake that Keglo has, my two biggest blunders were as follows:

The whole ranged figures targeting figures of which they are not adjacent.

Stopping when entering water. I always thought that if you were in water, you weren't entering water, so you could continue your movement. I found that one out at a Tourney.

I'm really lost with this "error." Is this the same as Kroc's engaged range units error? Man...I got to reread that rulebook.

In times like this, there's a big chance that I'm on the erroneous side (basing on experience).

You have to attack a figure with which you are engaged. I often did not.

C R A P !!!
That's how I felt. It includes special attacks as well. For instance, If Nilfheim wants to use his Ice Shard SA and there is one reaver adjacent to him, he must first attack that reaver. If the reaver dies, he may then target another figure. If the reaver lives, he must end his special attack.

I'm browsing through the PDF rulebook right now. GEEEEEZ!!!

I don't think this would apply to Nilfheim's 2nd and 3rd ice shards, or Q9's Nth Quiglix. Then again I'm the genius.

Why did you think Q9 and Nilfy were unstopable beasts? So did I. Braxus is not effected, however, because her Acid Breath is a special ability and not a special attack.

It seems like such a small change at first, but it completely changes the way you play the game, doesn't it?
