What's the deal?

Why is it that on ebay all the expansion sets are so high priced? I live in a VERY small town but we have a Wal-Mart here and usually figure expansions are about $10.00, well Wal-Mart here rarely restocks their heroscape stuff so I look on ebay. There figure sets sell for $12.00 to $15.00 before shipping! What is with that? Why are they so much more expensive.

because ebay is all greedy little bastards.the ARV of each small expansion is like 12.99 (idk why WM and Target sell them cheaper) and each large expansion is about 19.99, and teh MS is 39.99. Ebay is solely for profit. You will never find anyone on ebay who isn't selling for profit. People here will volunteer their time to ship something across teh country for just the cost of shipping. Profits are rarely ever intended.

Geeze I see what you mean I look at stores like Toys R' Us and they are a little more expensive, but still I would rather pay 12 or 13 dollers then 20 to 25 for a set. I am trying to find a decent price for the Tundra set (which should be 19.99 normaly). And the lava set. So far no good.

Yeah, people that sell things on ebay are just in it for the money. (Although I sell stuff on ebay) I know people that make so much money just buying MS and taking the land, dice and characters and sell them separate for half the cost of the actual MS. Some people actually buy the stuff too. Then they charge like an extra $10 for shipping but they ship all over the world.

Need a life outside from Heroscape?

Well good luck.

It is true that eBay sellers are often price gougers. However, you have to remember that Wal-Mart sells their items for a considerably lower price than other retailers. The MSRP for small expansion is $12.99, and $19.99 for large expansions. So to compare other sellers or retailers to Wal-Mart is unfair.

That said, if you look around eBay, or even other online retailers, you can find decent prices for Heroscape items. You may complain about the shipping costs. However, people make a valid point when they state that the shipping cost can be looked at as the gas you'd use to go to and from stores looking for the product. Especially if you're upset about certain items never being available locally.

Well I understand that Wal-Mart sells all their stuff for a much lower price, and I realize that most places small expansions are like $12.99, and even whne I search ebay and find a item priced like that I am not really bothered it is when I see a smal expansion marked as $17.00+ Not including shipping and handeling. I guess I just wish people were reasonable not trying to suck as much money as they possibly can for an item.

Yea, ebay sucks for HS'ers,
but whats all this 'ebay is only for profit' nonsense?
You think Walmart is selling them for charity?

They get deals from manufacturers like Hasbro because they order in such large volume. That way, they remain competitive.

Still profit.
Numbskulls.

<<<<<<------------ Business student.
Just consider Ebay a business.
Or a series of small annoying businesses.
Like those oldenday bazaars with a bunch of people yelling at you.
(still a business).
Buisnesses selling the same items must remain competitive in order to justify their existence.
Wal-mart does this by carrying some of the HS items at a lower cost.
Toys R Us has done this by being the only ones besides internet that can carry the Lava set.
Ebay does this by ACTUALLY CARRYING WHAT YOU WANT!
They have selection.
We've seen people whine incessently about not finding what they want at the stores. Ebay sellers can sell at such higher prices because they actually have what you're looking for.
If people weren't buying them at the jacked up prices, they would be lowered.
Just-that-simple.
They have it, you want it, you pay higher for it.

Thats true. Even with the higher prices I have never paid more than I was willing to pay in order to get something on eBay. I'm a good shopper.

I think the ebay boosters are usually a rip.

However, HasbroToyShop.com and http://www.housemousegames.com/ have both been offering up some great deals online.

When in doubt, go to housemousegames.com because they have been a great supporter of this community. I think they have a free ship code right now, so go check them out!

Sudema is top notch in Heroscape: Legacy. Try out this alternative unit cost system at your next game day or tournament.

Just buy from a website other than eBay. Hasbro.com and Housemouse both sell Tundra for fairly reasonable amounts. I think the MSRP on tundra is actually 24.99, by the way.
