Interesting . . . . so the goal is basically to design an army that's idiot-proof?

Yeah, that should help your army do better. I am thinking there will be a spot on the army card for some notes on the army strategy.

We mostly thought it would be a lot of fun to play a different army every round. We had talked about a master set draft style tourney, but we thought the logistics of doing it for more than like 16 would be getting crazy.

This is an interesting way to do tournaments... it is in fact an awesome idea! This would be a fun side tournament to play at Gencon!

I must admit, something devious in me wants to bring a completely crappy army, just for the fun of seeing other poor 'scapers be forced to play it.

Okay, enough joking (or was it?) Time to check my March calendar to see when I have a free weekend. Probably never, but it's worth a shot.

Yeah, that is the reason we are having the armies be tied to the personal points for the overall winner, as it should be impossible to win if you bring a crappy army, even if you win all of your games.

March 8 would be the perfect day for me. The other weekends are iffy at best. I know you can't plan the tournament around a single player's schedule, but if you're taking a poll that's where my vote lies.

March 8 works for me as well. That may fall on the Iowa Girls State Basket Ball Tourney - and that usallly means our last big blizzard of the the winter. Travel in Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, March is always uncertain - but the Iowa Girls State Basket Ball Tourney usally does a good job of perdicting the last Big Blizard.
