Help with Halo customs

I'm new to the site and have been trying to make some proffesainal looking cards for some halo customs. I just cant get the hang of it. Does anyone already have some made? If not any tips for making good looking cards without photoshop?

Dang, how did you find this old thread? By the way I finished most of the Halo customs. Go to my customs thread to see them. To post your customs you have to make an account on photobucket or some other similar website, then copy the URL and paste it in between two [img] tags.[/img]
