It's a 4 to 5 hour drive for me one way. I'll see what I can do at work and try to make it with my son. Any suggestions for hotels in the area? Also, are there any maps that are set for the tournament.

yay. kmart by florida mall had all of wave 4 =). There are about 4 packs left of the heroes from that wave and whatever the pack with deadeye dan is.

That'd be great if you could, though I think we already having enough people willing to do so, so whenever the 4-5 hour drive is best for you, that's fine.

How late will they let us play?

Bad Apple Comics is open until nine on Saturdays. With the number of people we (might) have attending, the schedule conflict with WoW might push us back to five. That's still enough time to play three rounds, but I'll see what I can do to give us as much time as possible (especially since I know a lot of you would like to show up early. We should be fine if a few of us do, and just play for fun while the WoW players do their thing.).

I'll post later with good maps I've found to get everyone's opinion on those. But I'd like everyone to make suggestions that they'd like to see...just keep in mind the maps have to fit on smallish tables.

As far as maps, I don't think many of us went to GenCon. Maybe we should ask the guys who ran the tournament at GenCon how those maps worked out and use the ones that worked well.

I plan to come too so add my name to list and I think we should compile some map ideals and vote for the ones we like.

Maps I was looking at include the ones in Battlefields of Valhalla (Best Tournament Maps).

I think Mole Hills is my favorite.
I like Ember Canyon Road, but using two RttFF it might require someone else to bring one (or more).
I'm not really a big fan of Marr Highway, and I think we'd have trouble fitting it on the tables.
I'm not usually a fan of snow*, but Arctic Divide is good.
Highways and Dieways looks nice, but again uses 2 RttFF. Also, all the water between the starting zones and the rest of the map really annoys me, I like having at least 2 spaces to connect to the rest of the map. :P

Anyone who wants to help out could go through the 1 MS maps in the downloads section and nominate some from there. I've already found quite a few. I'll post more later tonight.

*I house-rule that landing in snow does not require 2 movement points. Would anyone want this rule at the tournament? I think it's important to know ahead of time, if we decide to use snow maps or not.

These are only from the first three pages of the top downloaded 1 MS maps in the download section. I'll go through more if none of these are agreed on, but it'd be much easier if everyone nominated their own from the downloads section.

Note that some of these may be too big. I try to figure out good measurements soon. Thanks to all respective creators for making their maps available for download.

Here's my rankings from best to worst:
Mole Hills - best
Arctic Divide - good - I think snow probably should be played as the 2 movement, though I have never played on snow myself.
Highways and Dieways - Looks decent enough to play to me.
Ember Highway - I don't like it much, but it's not terrible.
Marr Highway - worst - I'd prefer not to play this one.

I'll try to look at the others when I have more time.

Depends on how many people we have coming. I'd really like to have a good estimate within the next week. The more terrain the better. Once we've decided on maps, I'll let everyone know what I'm short on.
