![]() Currently obsessed with the genius of Warren Zevon, which includes reading this (somewhat scary) book, which is a long series of people writing a few paragraphs at a time about him. Very interesting and easily digestible format. C3V "Easily the best quality classic customs I have ever seen."

Re: Books: What are you currently reading?
That sounds like an interesting read. Warren Zevon wrote some of my favorite songs: "Carmelita," "Lawyers, Guns and Money," and "Accidentally, Like a Martyr."

Re: Books: What are you currently reading?
Just finished what is most likely the last Crichton book (RIP 2008), although this was only partially written by him. Sadly, you could tell the differences in writing style from MC and the poor soul they got to finish the book. It did not feel like a normal Crichton book at all. Still, an interesting read.

The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo by Stieg Larsson
My wife recently read it and wanted to rent the movie, so I told her to wait a week so I could burn through it first. Finally getting to the meaty parts, the first 80 or so pages is excrutiating to get through. ![]() Last edited by nyys : April 5th, 2012 at 08:29 AM. 117th Boston Marathon: Monday, April 15th, 2013. Re: Books: What are you currently reading?
Just finished the latest book I've had to read for english class.
![]() It's interesting... To me it's a reverse mystery. You learn who murdered Santiago Nassar in the beginning of the novel, yet the story becomes more and more confusing as the narrative, which is decidely non-linear, progresses. I liked it, and I think I get it, but I'm not sure. |

Re: Books: What are you currently reading?
I listened to this in Audio Book at my old job while I was organizing our document room. I'll agree that the beginning is very dull, but it does have a point ultimately, although it could have been shortened. Great read, though. I enjoyed the entire trilogy.

One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, always nice to read a classic in hectic times. It's difficult to not like this book.

Re: Books: What are you currently reading?
I used my free Audible books. Quick, easy download, and for this series, the quality was great. Didn't like the lady's voice for Hunger Games, however. Just settled with reading those ones after I got off work. I like the audio books because my job is mindless, so it passes time very quickly.

Re: Books: What are you currently reading?
I just finished the second book of the "A Song of Ice and Fire"(ASIF) series, a Clash of Kings.
After I finished reading the prologue to the first book, I was completely hooked. The ASIF series is possibly the best fantasy series I have read to date. What I really like is the way all of the characters have such multi-faceted personalities, which is a blessed relief from the usual one-dimensional type characters found in most fantasy novels. Really, aside from the excellent storyline, the characters themselves (especially Tyrion, Jon, Catelyn, and Bran) are really just excellent. I have also decided that Brienne of Tarth is one of the best characters in the series -she is just a very noble, brave person, defientely one of the few "good" characters in the series. Plus, she is a kick-butt swordswoman. A warning to others who may be younger than me: If you are less than 16 years old, I would not recommend this series. It has a good deal of mature subject matter in it. ~Bravey Last edited by braveheart101 : April 7th, 2012 at 11:10 PM. Need miniatures painted?
