House rules?

What kind of house rules do you guys use? What's like the most common things you do?

For example, I just bought the Obsidian Guards set & it seems like they kind of suck. Is it okay to maybe cut their point cost to 50 instead of 100? Does it work out better to do stuff like that?

My house rull is for ice. Ice is like regular land (accept it has no height) yet large and up/double spaced figures cannot go on them. Because they would break through the ice.

Do you think it's alright to lower the points on guys that suck? Or are they figured out mathmatically by MB?

I really want to get into this game. I realize you guys have been talking about it for years & it's frustrating to hear the same questions over & over. But realize there will be new members who have just heard of this game for the first time & need to know stuff.
