Wind? Anyone use it in their game?
I was thinking about taking a 7hex and adding a spinner to it. It would use each hex as a point. At the beginning of each turn it would be spun to indicate wind direction. It would be attached to the map to use as a reference. The wind would give a +1 to range if shooting/firing along the giving direction, a -1 to range if shooting into the wind. To keep it simple, the bonuses would only apply to the 6 hexes for direction.
So has anyone done this? What do you think? I feel this may step the gaming up a notch. More than likely I wouldn't use it all the time. Just an extra for a more stragetic game. What kind of person spends $135.48 for Sir Hawthorne and has yet to ever put him into battle? Update, 2 out of 2 times Sir Hawthorne has backstabbed me. What are the odds? |

That is a really cool idea. I'll have to try it out too.

It sounds like the house rules we use in pirates. Also, if boats are used in heroscape games, wind rules would continue to add to the fun. I've just never thought about using it to change range. Good idea... I seem to remember something in codex 7 about boats and wind...
