Figure Re-basing

Having recently obtained Marvelscape and having already enjoyed a game with it's awesomeness, I had this question....

Does anyone out there have the skill required to flawlessly re-base a set of Marvel figures? When I saw flawless I mean just that. When looking at them on the field I don't want to be able to tell in any way that they were made with grey bases. I want them to be on the standard Heroscape brown bases with the standard sticker. I don't want them to look like customs at all....I'm talking about a step up in quality that goes beyond the skills of most cutom builders....flawless integration.

If anyone has the skills and the willingness to do this please let me know. I will discuss payment to re-base my Marvel figures if you can post a variety of pictures proving your mad skills.

i'm pretty sure I can do that. Or I can tell you how.
For the Marvel figure:
Get an electric fingernail buffer, grind down the outer layers of the peg. On the base.

Then just pull the figure from the base and use a straight edge hobby knife to remove the paper.

For the HS base:
Use a welding tip cleaner, with small drill bits. Any hardware store would have it. Use it to drill the HS figure from the base.
same thing with paper.

Put the new base on the MS figure with the new paper. use rubber cement to glue the figure to the base. Maybe I didn't ramble too much.

Thanks, but I'm not looking to do this myself. I've tried a couple miniature related crafts before....they were darned ugly when I was through.

I'm pretty much the butcher of Valhalla.

hakysak, that was about the most winded way to say it I have ever seen. The easy way is to take an Xacto knife and just slice the peg off. Then grab a tube of superglue and glue the new figure down.

Anyways, I could do them for you, but I don't have the time/inclination.

Just trying to help. That's the best way I can think to do it so it looks like it was produced that way.

Just seemed kinda odd to use all those tools to remove the guy from his base, especially if you plan to resticker the base (which I would suggest anyways) I think an Xacto knife would just be simpler.
Also, note sure about rubber cement, that stuff tends to not stick well to some surfaces, but I haven't tried it. And do NOT use white glue. I use white glue as a temp bond when I want to primer something.

If I searched through original HS figures to find ones with the same foot peg placement, how easy would it be to pop a Marvel figure out, pop the classic figure out, and just slide the Marvel guy into the holes, no new sticker required?

Probably very easy, some figures you can just wiggle out of the base. If you find compatible figures, check them all by wiggling them a bit, if they wiggle a lot there is a good chance you'll be able to pop them out.

Marvel figures have four new holes besides the problem of popping them out.

Feedback: We could all use a little more

I always preferred rubber cement to super glue. Vapors from the super glue turn most plastics white. Scuffing the plastic makes the rubber cement hold better.

Re-inventing the wheel is always fun.

Yeah....usually it wouldn't bug me but I just think it would look a little cooler if they all had the same base.
