Re: Deathstroke-brainstorming phase
Ah, Deathstroke. Not one of my favorites but I am a fan.
Stats look solid. I'd prefer either 5/5 or 6/6 - a balance between them just feels right for him, flavor wise - but I wouldn't mind him in his current state. Left Box is pretty good. Mercenary, no doubt... but I think we could do better than "Genius." Clever. Strategic. Perceptive. Something like that. Genius... it's official, yeah, but I've never really liked it. And Altered Human - he's a Metahuman, no doubt. It's analogued to both Mutant and Mutate, so it's both people born with powers and who develop them. Plus, Wikipedia lists him as one, so he's not just plain Human. Metahuman. Lightning Reflexes... while I do like it in concept, I don't think it should JUST target guys with Speed Dodge. Specifically calling out a power seems weird to me. Something like, I dunno, "figures may never use a special power on their card to avoid damage from a normal attack from Deathstroke." Quick Shot looks fine. As for Counter Strike... I dunno, I'd like a mix of Balantai's power and Spidey's. Something like... When rolling defense dice against a normal attack from, you may add 1 automatic shield to whatever is rolled. All excess shields count as unblockable hits on the attacking figure. Pair that with 5/5 stats. It's VERY strong, and works from adjacentcy and range, but I think that's perfect for his character. Call it "Expert Counter Strike" or something. Re: Deathstroke-brainstorming phase
I'm with Hahma on all he said there, including the bump to 6 attack due to the sword.
And he'd definitely get a heck of a lot more use out of Ruthless Counter Strike. Plus the name just suits him so well ... I agree with Johnny that the personality needs some work ... Precise even would be better. Relentless would fit, but we're starting to overuse that ... C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

First thing in this thread I've agreed with you on, quozl. Good call - perfect fit.

I know, but you try hard, and we all appreciate that.

Re: Deathstroke-brainstorming phase
Glad you went with Deathstroke!! Been wanting to see him for a while!
I even considered gunning for him when I get my pass, but I've got another figure in mind, and the Deathstroke that I know and love is Slade from the Teen Titans cartoon. But if they ever did release a mini of that version of Slade (Who has a cooler costume, in my opinion, anyway ), I would totally want to make it! More of a mastermind/Batman-like character. Hehehe, I loved that show. I don't know how he is at all in the comics, but from what I've heard, he isn't as evil as in the cartoon (Man, I loved how he just broke Terra's mind, and almost got Robin... Heck, his obsession with Robin was an amazing plot point!!) Okay, enough reminiscing of that show, the figure's looking great! But I wouldn't mind him being powered down a bit, to be more on the level of Captain America and Batman, because I've always envisioned him being pretty close to their power level. But like I said, I don't know the comic character that well, so take it what it's worth. |
