How about Incendium to replace Ember Canyon Road. http://www.heroscapers.com/downloads//incendium1_P94.jpg

Re: Portland/Vancouver NHSD

Incedium has several spaces where you can be adjacent to molten lava on the same level (so a Chainfighter or Wyvern could do easy kills on the board).

What about: Vorago?

Or maybe Umbra. It is one of Mad Wookie's as well.

We are already using Umbra and are short the BotU needed for Vorago, so how about Incedium with a couple of modifications to eliminate the same level molten lava spaces. (This is why we didn't consider Incendium in the 1st place, but should be easy enough to rectify).

Re: Portland/Vancouver NHSD

Thank you Kai, the map links were coming today, but it is nice to not have to take the time. What is your thoughts on minor tweaks to Incendium?

Re: Portland/Vancouver NHSD

Here are some options that I found, that don't use dungeon:

SERPENTINE
http://www.heroscapers.com/community...do=file&id=894

VIOLATION
http://www.heroscapers.com/community...o=file&id=2759

WALK DON'T RUN
http://www.heroscapers.com/community...o=file&id=2474

MAUNA KILLER
http://www.heroscapers.com/community...o=file&id=3426

RISING FEVER
http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...structions.jpg
(you could tweak this one to make the dungeon into stone, not sure if you have the rocks though)

RIFT VALLEY
http://www.heroscapers.com/community...t=rising+fever

Some of these have the problem of same-level molten lava, but I guess it depends on how often someone can pull it off. On the Incendium board, it can happen a several different locations. Guess I'm paranoid about Chainfighters and Wyverns after that play-test.

Ember Canyon had a different problem - and that was the 'sitting duck' problem for melee having to run through the canyon with ranged attackers above (especially Dragons like Braxis and Moltenclaw, or other big ranged heroes).

Anyway, just my 2-cents. Looking forward to the event!!

Re: Portland/Vancouver NHSD

Hadn't run across "don't walk, run" yet. Looks like a decent option to me.

Re: Portland/Vancouver NHSD

Thanks for posting the links to the maps, Kai.

Of the suggestions, I like Run, Don't Walk as well. Having some uncapped castle pieces on a map would add to the variety and it looks like it would be fun to play on.

Peace,
Nomad

Interesting feedback. Do you think the Chainfighters and Wyverns are that big of a factor in the metagame that this creates an imbalance? I saw this as a feature, not a bug. I don't think I've ever seen either of those figures at a competitive event.

I can guarantee you one of my friends will stick one in his army if he knows they will be useful. No clue if he'll check back and figure this out though.

~Dysole, who says he's friends with William099, Vermilyon, Lord Nyax, and Tyesheron. Guess which one.
