what is the advantage...
of having the warforged soldiers' ability to tactical switch?
I don't seem why it is any advantage at all. The PROBLEM keeps on calling, even with the cell phone GONE |

Re: what is the advantage...
You kind of need to see it in action to really make sense of it. The simplest example is trading places with someone higher than you to get height advantage. Moving them off of glyphs is also good, but there are other reasons too.
Looking for a way to get casual players involved in Heroscape? Do your opponents lack the interest or knowledge to build/draft their own armies? If so, check out Project 500! |

Re: what is the advantage...
The Romans will hate it, but glyph's and height advantage will be by far the two biggest advantages.
EDIT: Also, on lava maps, you can switch then onto the molten rock (not the lava) at the end of a round to force them to roll to survive or take damage. Now through May 28th, the Louisville region is in desperate need of platelets - call the Red Cross if you are interested in donating! |

Re: what is the advantage...
Just wondering if the pack was worth the squad, but there are some advantages, but not game changing ones(unless it was the last two characters...)

Re: what is the advantage...
I'd say the ability to remove height advantage from characters is pretty massive.

Re: what is the advantage...
No, the free shield helps them close (how well, we will have to wait and see) with ranged units, who are the most deadly figures on height. Getting range on height killed, or off the height is always a priority with ranged figures.

Re: what is the advantage...
tactical switch can pull important figures like raelin or range (Airborne would be the best) from high places and attacking them with 4 and 3 attack dice dealing at least one wound, and if not, they would be engaged to 3 guys who automatically roll one shield.

Re: what is the advantage...
On hilly maps, I can see the Warforged doing excellent. Pulling guys off of heights, and taking the high ground from them, taking glyphs, and a solid defense when taking the high ground will make them excellent on certain maps. I can see them being decimated on flatter maps, however.

It gives them extra movement, if they move 5 spaces and then switch places with a figure who's 2 levels higher than them they've effectively moved 8 spaces. Imagine you're using a knight of weston to attack a airbone elite figure who's 1 level higher than the knight. The airborne will be getting an extra defense dice to defend against that knight because of height. But if the knight was a warforged soldier he could swap places with the airborne elite. The airborne wouldn't get that extra defense and you would get an extra attack die. I think that equals .833 additional wounds that you'll inflict. People playing against the warforged will have to rethink their figure placement. It's not always a good idea to place your figures on height when the warforged can stroll up and turn it against them. |

Re: what is the advantage...
There is one main advantage the warforge give that only a handful of other figures give you, board control.
One of the most heavily played figures are the Deathreavers, figures who control opponents placement for their figures and hamper their movement. The warforge do the same exact thing, except they cause you to place your opponent's figures where YOU want them. This is a huge advantage, not just in terms of height advantage, but in where they can move their figures. Imagine moving a figure, a high point figure, into adjacency with your figures. That ranged figure? Can only attack the 'forge. That healer? Can't heal. Raelin? Can easily be taken out by a squad of them. The possibilities are nearly limitless. The cake is a lie. -Insert Witty Signature Here- |
