Descent 2.0 or the Heroscape Master Set
I have about enough money to either buy Descent Journey into the darkness (2nd edition) or Heroscape Rise of the Valkyrie Master set. I'm currently unsure of which one to buy and so I would just want to know what board game you would go for and why.
In addition, I already like to add that I have all the heroscape samurai and roman figures, deathreavers, and random heroes from different factions such as Major Q9. (I really liked the detail of the figures so I thought I might collect them) |

Re: Descent 2.0 or the Heroscape Master Set
Just know that since you are posting this questions on a Heroscape fansite, you are probably going to receive biased answers. Anyway, comparing the two games is like apples to oranges. If you are looking for a dungeon crawl campaign with RPG elements get Descent. If you are looking for a lighter miniatures skirmish game on 3D customizable terrain get Heroscape.
You said that you already have a few of the Heroscape figures and I take it no terrain? In that case, purchasing the Rise of the Valkyrie Master Set would be a terrific idea! You get plenty of terrain as well as everything else you need to play. The set also comes with thirty more miniatures giving you a great amount of variety, especially since you already own a few. |

If you want D&D lite get descent if you want Warhammer lite, get Heroscape. I recommend neither.

Yeah, this is pretty true. Heroscape will cost a lot to get the most out of. I recently inquired on Board Game Geek about the game A Game Of Thrones the card game. The core set is like $26, but from what people told me, I'd really need to spend at least around $150 before all was said and done to get the most out of it. I don't need another one of those games, as Sergeants Miniatures Game is my new Scape crack and I'm spending more on that than I can say. I'd just say that from my experience and my personality, if you are the type to dive into a game system with both feet, make sure you know how deep you will be able to go Hand of fate is moving and the finger points to you ...Iron Maiden - The Wicker Man TUTORIAL FOR RE-BASING FIGURES 3hrs 43mins 32secs = 1242nd of 8808 overall - 1988 Honolulu Marathon |
