Re: The Book of Minions of Utgar
Rev's Champion 4th Mass./Sentinels Army
330 - Sentinels of Jandar x3 540 - 4th Mass x3 Check out the counterpart: Non-Champion Stinger/Minions Army 330 - Minions x3 510 - Stingers x3 540 - Guilty Oh, I think that would be the most epic battle ever. Quadraphonic(x2), Hilo-Scaper, SuperflyTNT 1-4/3-1/3-2/3-2 10-9 = 53% Win pct. |

That would be fun, although maybe Marcu Esenwein and Isamu would sub in for Guilty. |

Re: The Book of Minions of Utgar
Surely someone somewhere at sometime has done the comparison,
but for my own edification (and not to just have another long post)... Minions A 2x2 ... average 2 hits/figure 3 figures/squad ... 6 hits/turn D 6 ... average shields 2 / def. roll +1 to A A 3x2 ... average 3 hits/figure 3 figures/squad ... 9 hits/turn +1 to D D 7 ... average 2.33 shields / def. roll +2 to A A 4x2 ... average 4 hits/figure 3 figures/squad ... 12 hits/turn +2 to D D 8 ... average 2.66 shields / def. roll Sentinels A 3x1 ... average 1.5 hits/figure 3 figures/squad ... 4.5 hits/turn D 4x2 ... average 2.66 shields / def. roll +1 to A A 4x1 ... average 2 hits/figure 3 figures/squad ... 6 hits/turn +1 to D D 5x2 ... average 3.33 shields / def. roll +2 to A A 5x1 ... average 2.5 hits/figure 3 figures/squad ... 7.5 hits/turn +2 to D D 6x2 ... average 4 shields / def. roll +3 to D D 7x2 ... average 4.66 shields / def. roll +4 to D D 8x2 ... average 5.33 shields / def roll and just for grins (and because it's marginally harder to figure) Imperium A 3x1 twice... average 3 hits/figure 3 figures/squad ... 9 hits/turn D 3x1 ... average 1 shield / def. roll +1 to A A 4x1 twice ... average 4 hits/figure 3 figures/squad ... 12 hits/turn with Kiova (K) D 3x1, rerolls non shields ... average 1.66 shield / def. roll +1 to D with K D 4x1 & rerolls ... average 2.22 shields / def. roll +2 to D with K D 5x1 & rerolls ... average 2.77 shields / def. roll +3 to D with K D 6x1 & rerolls ... average 3.33 +2 to A, +3 to D with K A 5x1 twice .... average 5 hits/figure 3 figures/squad ... 15 hits/turn D 6x1 & rerolls ... average 3.33 so... where do you want to throw your points? Supporting the squads? and then finding terrain, glyphs, blah blah blah. Last edited by MalignantT; December 17th, 2008 at 07:19 PM. |

Re: The Book of Minions of Utgar
Questions:
1. When you use the Minions, do you advance all of them at once, or just one at a time. 2. I'm going to buy 2 of the Drones and Minions sets (no I don't have either) I was wondering: are just two squads of Drones paticularly bad casually? ~Syrn GO DK, GO! |

Re: The Book of Minions of Utgar
1. I'm assuming you mean all of your squads of minions at one time.
I usually bring minions up 3 at a time because their slow movement means they need lots of order markers and they have the staying power to linger in the battle without dying right away. Their six defense allows them to survive a turn unattended. Then, when one dies, I fight with two and use my third move option to bring one up from the rear. 2. I only play casually as well but I have five sets of drones and minions (of course the minions are my favorite unit). You'll want at least three sets of drones because the height of their special power allows you to move nine at a time, thus you need three sets. You could always use your two sets and proxies in a casual game however. 2011 most played: 1. Heroscape/Monsterpocalypse/Quarriors. 4. Warhammer Invasion. 5. Last Night on Earth. |

a) reveal OM on minions b) move any three minions on the board c) attack (if possible) with the three you moved d) if you did not move three minions, then attack with the ones you did move and then attack with any other of your choosing until three have attacked that round (if it's possible for three to attack). 2) Drones are most effective at three sets, but nothing wrong with only using two. -insert signature here- Last edited by nyys; March 4th, 2009 at 03:46 PM. |

Re: The Book of Minions of Utgar
Welcome vertigosmooth
Me too, just got in contact with heroscapers a few months ago back on topic: Played with one squad recently and attacked Kaemon Awa... 3 whiffs! 110 points gone. (played sewer run (HSCodex n° so 300 point army) I lost eventually. So what did i learned: don't use these against counter strikers XD |
