Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
I haven't watched Solo since the theater but my recollection was that if you didn't think of it as a "Star Wars" movie and just enjoyed it as a movie set in the Star Wars Universe it was quite entertaining. I too am not a huge Star Wars Geek but my son is semi-geeked so we took him to watch it. We all enjoyed it.
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
I enjoyed Solo, I think I've watched it 3 times now and would be up for watching it again. Once in the theater and twice on Blu-Ray. Conversely, I have not watched the Last Jedi a second time yet and only watched the Force Awakens twice, don't really have any desire to watch either one ever again. There were elements of both I enjoyed, but overall neither one was really all that good. I've also watched Rogue One like 5 times now and would watch it again. It's sad that the two good SW universe films made the least amount of money and the two anthology films have both been not very good but made a ton of cash. Sends the wrong message to Hollywood as they will chase the money. I prefer the movies set in the SW universe but not about the Skywalker family. In a Universe that large there should be lots of stories to tell about other characters, stories with smaller stakes are often better movies.

Last Jedi was fantastic.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
I really liked The Force Awakens, but I feel like it was a bit "paint by numbers" compared to Last Jedi, whereas I felt like Last Jedi challenged me and the tropes of its universe more.

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
I watched Solo as well now that it's on Netflix. I think, mostly, that I just have a hard time with how heroic Han is. I was expecting more of an anti-hero, not a dude with a heart of gold doing everything for essentially noble and morally upstanding reasons. His sole "failings" seem to be growing up poor and moderately disliking authority.
His past seemed so much cooler in my head. ~Aldin, also pretty pleased with TFA and especially TLJ He either fears his fate too much or his desserts are small That dares not put it to the touch to gain or lose it all ~James Graham |

Agreed. I was expecting way more and the storyline took a very wierd and unexpected turn.

Yeah, and after spending so much time on their premise, once he was shrunk they did extremely little with it.

My daughters and I watched Guardians of the Galaxy 1 again. Probably our 3rd or 4th time seeing it. Really good.

Once Captain Marvel and Thanos II are over, I think GGIII is the Second Phase film of the marvel Universe that I'm most looking forward to!

Re: Movies: What did You Watch Last Night?
Watched The Mummy followed by The Mummy Returns earlier tonight. Great adventure movies, though I'd have to say the first is the superior film. Makes me want more Egyptian stuff in scape. I'll be watching the third installment tomorrow.
