If we're doing a 400 point draft, I already have my idea. How big of a pool per player are we considering for this? I don't think it should just be 400, as you want to give people lots of options. I think that a 750 point pool is a great size.

so I was thinking 600-700 points brought per player, but that's not set in stone. I did a practice game via email with 700-800 points brought, and felt that it was too much.

I've heard of this style of tournament but have never participated in one. Would you post a brief description of how it works?

We've been practicing all morning with 750, and I like it. I don't think 600 adds enough flexibility.

I like 750 too, because it gives you enough flexibility for two fundamentally different armies, but you still have to have some overlap.

mac, a pooled draft tournament is where you and your opponent bring a pool of figures, and then draft an army out of both pools.

I've been playing 400 point, 750 pool draft whatever for the beter part of the morning, with Boromir, and some siblings... I think we could up it to 500 point armies, and like 800, 850 pools.. The drafting only takes like 3 or 4 minutes apiece. Just my 2 cents..

All players bring a "pool" with 750 Points worth of figs(subject to change) After you've been assigned an opponent and a map, you and your opponent combine your "pools" and then take turns drafting out of the combined pool until they hit 400.

Also, some things to discuss,

A. I'm liking the pooled draft format, my only worry is, will younger kids and inexperienced players be able to handle it? I have a friend who only has 1 RotV, He would have to borrow some stuff to play a competitive pool, and that means literally no practice.(He lives like an hour away.)

B. C3V and SoV. I am totally in favor of these.

C. Prizes. As I posted above, there will be some prize support, but not as much as last year, which wasn't as much as the year before... etc.
I was thinking, $5 Entry Fee (Used to buy Gift certificates) And it is not required, but encouraged to bring 1 or 2 small things for the prize table (E.g. A C3V Custom with A nice printout card. Or a Custom off Auggies. Or even just a Squad of Arrow Gruts you don't need)

Edit: that would allow everybody to walk away with something.....

Thoughts?

Double edit: If me and my group were to come(Me, Samuelfrost4, Ever Scarcarver, and possibly some siblings or a friend.) We could bring at least 5 maps.
