Seattle - Immortals Unleashed
IMMORTALS UNLEASHED Seattle’s Immortals Unleashed Event On Saturday, February 19th, 2011, I will be hosting a special Heroscape event called “Immortals Unleashed.” The format of this event is inspired by RoninValentina’s Immortals event held in San Jose, CA this year. http://www.heroscapers.com/community...ad.php?t=33829 Last edited by obfuscatedhippo; February 20th, 2011 at 05:54 PM. |

Re: Seattle - Immortals Unleashed
Hey all. I know some of you have been wanting to look at the results for the Bay Area Immortals tournament, and they are now (finally) posted here.
I'll be frank, responding to a PM concerned about the prevalence of Cyprien. I do not think he should be banned. He can be a powerful Immortals choice, to be certain, but playing Cyprien takes skill, or at the very least a lucky d20. Chilling Touch is not an auto win though, and anyone playing that way will probably lose. That said, playing against Cyprien, especially in this format, is also a skill, and you should be very aware of where Cyprien can be moved to at all times. You should also be aware that when chosen as Immortals, X17 or Major Q10 aren't Soulborgs anymore and thus completely vulnerable to something like Chilling Touch. - Heroscape is a standing game. - |

Re: Seattle - Immortals Unleashed
Hi Ronin,
Thank you for posting your results, and for the comments on Cyprien. I think that Cyprien is an obvious choice in the format that you used in SF. He's pretty awesome in any format : ) We have a wider pool of Hero choices, including heroes with ranged attacks - so that might make a difference. You do point out the fact that Soulborg heroes that are choses to be Immortals are now just that - Immortals and no longer Soulborgs. Perhaps to help alleviate the concerns about Cyprien, we'll at least allow X17 and Q10 to be counted as Soulborgs as well. I'll make a decision in a few days, as I want to finalize the rules soon. I don't expect the awesome turn-out that you had in SF, so maybe we'll get a chance to play-test the Immortals in a few weeks - then go for another, larger event in a few months. Peace, *Kai |

Re: Seattle - Immortals Unleashed
Great job organizing this event, Kai. Your expertise and effort are beyond comparison. I'm assuming we will be holding this at your place instead of 3rd Place Books unless we get more to sign up.
I'm looking forward to it! Peace, Nomad |

Re: Seattle - Immortals Unleashed
Hey Kai,
Thanks for continuing to innovate on the Immortals idea. I think its a great change from Squadscape and your tweaks at promoting diversity should be great. I love Cyprien from NHSD, but figure I should branch out. |
