Does this function already exist?

I think it would be very cool that if someone edited their post and that post was the last one in a subscribed thread that the subscribed thread would pop back up in your 'user CP'.

In a perfect world (well my perfect world) you could get such an update when any post in the thread is updated and it would indicate Post #ABC has been edited.

So... I mostly lurk now. Sure, that's my problem, but I ran into an interesting snag that I'd love to find would have an easy fix.


I was reading a thread and really liked the generosity a poster had shown, so I tried to +rep the post, but got the "you must spread reputation around" yadda, yadda, yadda.


I was wondering if we could get some kind of statute of limitations on the repping the same person multiple times in a row change where, when someone like me who hasn't repped anybody in a while and hasn't repped the person they want to rep in possibly years, that the queue of folks previously repped has names fall off if the last repping was sufficiently long enough ago.


Any chance of that happening? The time limit being something like six months would still be plenty for keeping folks from attempting to abuse the system.

I typically forget who I +rep too (and seldom go about it, though its probably much more often than you) so that'd be a nice thing to implement.

One thing that's bugged me for a while about this site is the inability to indent - I've never liked it. Also, recently I've started getting into the Fan Fiction Contest, and I had to edit my last entry so that the paragraphs were clearly differentiated. It would be so much easier if you could just indent.

There is a button if you go Advanced. It's just under the font color button.

That indents the whole paragraph - I'm talking about being able to put a space at the start of the first line in a paragraph, the way you're supposed to, to help differentiate paragraphs.

Just double space between paragraphs. It's perfectly acceptable in some formats of written correspondence. I'm a stickler for that sort of thing because I believe in the importance of the presentation of the written word, but for the reader's purposes the double-space is just as effective.

You could also put some number of spaces to get the effect you want. The text isn't justified, so you should get a consistent spacing at the start of each paragraph.

The site doesn't allow multiple spaces. Any number of consecutive spaces greater than one are reduced to one space.

Well then, I was right about one thing. If you put 4 spaces every time, you'll get a nice consistent distance between the left edge and the beginning of the text. It's just that the consistent distance will be a single space.

Now let's experiment:
I wonder if this technique will work to indent my paragraph. Let's see!

I have no idea how Ollie did his - they also seem too large for what I'm going for. I do double space a lot for my posts, but when I'm writing a story, doing that wouldn't look right, IMO.
Ah, well - back to editing stories for clarity of paragraphs.
