Re: Hexes in Texas 2011: A National Heroscape Day Event - 10
Alright, just thought I'd get the ball rolling here. I copied the event post from last year and we will modify as we need to.
First question to the community: Do we want to leave this event "straight up" or add the restricted list to it? R˙chean and a few of us were talking and the idea of adding the restricted list to the event came up. I'm personally in favor of it as I think it's a pretty good way of curtailing the "power builds" that many of us are tired of seeing. Thoughts? Dignan's Maps - Dignan's Multiplayer Maps

I have not been able to make a tournament in awhile so i hope i am not barred. I would like to be the second to sign up. Please also put my son Moonwalker on the list and my wife Raven. I want to sign my 11 year old son as well, but we dont have a nick name for him yet, so how about the unnamed warrior?

I'm in favor of using the restricted list and am working to make arrangements (now that I'm un-retired) to get away that weekend.

Re: Hexes in Texas 2011: A National Heroscape Day Event - 10
You could do what we did in Arkansas last year...550 point armies, unless you put Q-9, Raelin, or Rats in the army (and you're only allowed one of those three) in which case you only get 500 points.
By the way...got the go ahead to be out of the pulpit on that weekend, so sign me up. |

When is the last time we did General Wars in North Texas? I think it has been years. I see no reason NHSD can't be General Wars. It would break up some of the power combos without the complication of a restricted list. I'm in: Attendee list:

Personally, I'm not a big fan of General Wars. It's easier to understand than the restricted list, but I think it's a bit too limiting. I don't find the army builds allowed by that type of event that interesting. I would be more in favor of playing straight up than using the General Wars format. And, of course, we don't have to restrict this event in any way. NHSD has always been an "unlimited" format in years past, so we don't have to change that. I was just throwing it out that to see how people felt, etc. Dignan's Maps - Dignan's Multiplayer Maps
